Simple and Sturdy

This watch does everything that my D4i does except there is only a Freediving mode. It's the perfect Freediving computer. It's lighter than the D4i but just as sturdy. Suunto dive computers are like tanks...they never die. My first D4 is almost 8 years old and it's going strong. I ran over my D4f with my car and it was fine. I'm very impressed. Easy and intuitive to use. Good work guys!

Scratch The Surface

Works, but not as intuitive as other scuba dive computers I am using (Suunto Cobra). I turned off dive mode to save power between outings and I couldn't get it into dive mode while I was doing my breath up after dropping anchor on my dive float. Seems like I get stuck in the routine, circling for what I am looking for. My competence with this menu needs work. It is loaded with features which I have yet to fully access, mainly interested in the alarms and interval timer. It is compact and tracks my dives, which is really why I bought it. Thumbs up for cost, size and functions, if you can access them all in the water.

Suunto D4F is a light yet robust free dive computer, that makes underwater sports enjoyable. When diving, the D4F displays your present and maximum depth and calculates dive time and surface intervals for you, allowing you to fully concentrate on exploring the underwater world. Use the apnea timer to improve your breathing technique. After the dive, you can browse the details of your dive from the logbook. The light-weight composite case with stainless steel bezel and mineral crystal glass make Suunto D4F not only a trusted tool when exploring the depths, but also looks good wearing day to day. The Suunto D4F comes with a comfortable elastomer strap. The USB cable for uploading your dives to DM5 and Suunto Movescount is sold separately (see SKU: SQTPCUSBD).

Computer is ideal for freediving, snorkeling and spearfishing, has an innovative apnea timer (O2/CO2 tables) and provides a free dive number, depth alarm, dive time alarm, surface time notify, and water/air temperature readout. The computer has a maximum depth rating of 328' (100 meters), has a free dive mode, watch mode with 12/24-hour format, dual time function, stop watch function all on an easy to read matrix display with a resolution of 49 x 22. The computer will properly function from 0' to 10,000' (0 to 3,000 meters). The firmware is updateable, computer is powered by a common CR2450 battery and has a low battery indicator function.

When using the computer in low light or night conditions there is an electroluminescent backlight function. The D4F computer can display information in imperial or metric units of measure, has a logbook memory function of 140-hours and a lifetime dive history. The computer measures (L x W x H) 1.97" x 1.97" x 0.61" (50 mm x 50 mm x 16 mm) and weighs 3.03 oz. (86 g). Included in the box with the Suunto D4F Black are a black elastomer strap, scratch guards (2 pcs), safety leaflet, quick guide and dive legal leaflet with warranty information and a Suunto logo sticker.
