Snorkel Pro Trinidad Semi Dry Snorkel

Purchased this snorkel after my old one broke at the flexible section above the mouth piece. It was a simple, no features snorkel except for a purge valve. I wish I could find that one again but i think it was made by some one off company that doesn't exist anymore. I found when using this snorkel water is some how getting in. I haven't had a chance to truly diagnose where its coming from but I'm assuming its coming in through the purge valve. Every 30-60 secs i feel water gurgling in my snorkel and have to blast it out (which isnt easy with this snorkel for some reason). Along with the leak, it just feels bulky and unnecessarily built in some sections. The guard on the end is useless if not hindering and the purge valve area has an extended section that goes past it. I personally wouldn't buy this snorkel again.

I don't really use snorkels that often so I wanted something inexpensive and simple. I bought the all black version and I think it functions as a snorkel should. It is well made in my opinion and that's all I can say about it. buy one and see for yourself if you only use snorkels occasionally.

When I purchased this snorkel I read it as semi-dry. Well the description doesn't match the function. The snorkel was used during a trip to Cayman Islands and I had to stop swimming and pull it out of my mouth get out all the water (a hard blow wouldn't clear the unit). I would not recommend this product unless it was used in swimming pool with no waves.

This snorkel comes with a black top on it that I guess is supposed to keep some water from flowing back in, but what it does is keep so much water from flowing out that you're often forced to blast clear twice before you can draw a breath in. However, if you rip that silly top off, it works just fine. It seems that every time manufacturers get away from a straight-tube, big-bore design they screw it up.

Some divers don't use snorkels anymore but I consider it an essential safety item. I always use mine and this one worked perfectly with my new mask.

I've used a few snorkels, some on the higher price range (2 Mares and 1 other Scubapro)... This one is superb for the price. There is zero flooding and it is assembled very well. It truly is a quality product. For the price you cannot beat it and I can say with confidence that it is my favorite snorkel.
