Love this harness. It is customizable to what you want and need. It is very tight and the instructions to take it apart and put it back together leave a lot to be desired. I found plenty of great videos on youtube to add accessories and get the web back in place correctly. I’ve done about 10 dives in this harness and absolutely love it compared to a traditional BCD. I’ve never used another harness setup, so I have nothing to compare it to there.

Cost cutting on the D-rings on most Scubapro BCD harness and jackets by utilizing aluminum D-rings. They wear and eventually will break. Nothing beats stainless steel.

Ok; it's not DIR. It is a hybrid somewhere between a hog harness and and a standard BCD. It is very comfortable and adjustable. There is a combination of sewn parts and 2 inch webbing that provides some of the configuration possibilities of a hog harness with a big leap in anatomical fit. Best feature is the shoulder straps and chest strap that take pressure off your armpits. Nearly as good are the well positioned flexible pads at the hip and back. This is a plush harness. Admittedly there are way too many D rings. They can be removed. Mine went from 16 to 6 D rings using a razor and bolt cutter. It's up to you. If you have been looking at the many positive benefits of going to a backplate and wing configuration but were turned off by the rigid backplate and utilitarian harness this is the answer. My apologies to any DIR aficionados I may offend with my comments.
