The Mark 2 EVO exemplifies reliability and simplicity, with a classic downstream piston design ideal for warm and moderate waters. In use, the valve opens with incoming airflow and requires inhalation effort to overcome spring tension. The first stage features Scubapro's Extended Thermal Insulating System (XTIS), ensuring proper function even in frigid waters. Meeting the EN250-2014 requirements for cold water diving, the MK2 EVO is CE approved for 3360 psi (230 bars) and tested in extreme cold diving conditions below 36.7 Degree F (2.6 Degree C).

Freezing resistance has increased by 50% over the previous model, thanks to new design features like a proprietary insulating coating and a patented finned cap with ribs for optimal cold-water diving. The MK2 EVO also boasts a larger body and cap thread, insulating bushing, spring isolating coating, removable HP orifice, and expanded cap opening. The marine-grade chrome-plated brass body has one high-pressure and four low-pressure ports.

The lightweight S270 second stage features a durable fiberglass-reinforced nylon core and polyurethane outer layer for reduced jaw fatigue and enhanced diving comfort. Its balanced valve, techno-polymer barrel, and metal thread ensure reliable performance in extreme cold water. The air-balanced valve ensures consistent inhalation effort at varying depths and pressures. A user-friendly dive/predive switch, efficient exhaust tee, reusable mouthpiece clamp, and 3/8" threaded LP hose complete the package. Weighing 28.7 oz (814g) and nitrox-ready up to 40% oxygen, the regulator comes with a user manual for easy reference.
