Unbelievable Design, Unsurpassed Performance:
Brace yourself because the future has just arrived. In another industry first, Scubapro has broken through long-standing barriers in BC design and manufacturing with the introduction of the Fluid-Form 3D Gel System, featured on the brand-new Hydros Pro back-flotation BC. Traditional BC harnesses are manufactured using a CMT (Cut, Make, Trim) process, in which multiple layers of fabric, foam and backing are cut to shape, stitched together and then finished with edging tape and detailing. Scubapro's exclusive new Fluid-Form 3D Gel System replaces the CMT process by injection-molding harness components in soft, highly resilient thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) and then assembling them in a modular, mechanical process. This patented injection molded Monprene Gel Harness is the heart of the Hydros Pro design. It provides the BC with loads of features that improve comfort, stability, maneuverability and buoyancy control to enrich the overall diving experience.

To begin with because the gel conforms to the body, you end up with an extremely ergonomic fit and very efficient load distribution free of pressure points, particularly over the shoulders. Secondly, the Monprene harness retains virtually no water so it weighs less post-dive and dries quickly. This allows the Hydros Pro to be packed away hours earlier than what's usually possible. Finally, the fabric-free construction provides excellent resistance to UV and chemicals, and because it is modular it offers divers a "BC-4- Life" that's customizable and easy to repair. Virtually every component, including buckles, can be replaced without stitching. The Hydros Pro packs easily and includes a backpack that provides room for your entire dive kit. The Hydro Pro, a premium back-inflation, weight-integrated BC, is unlike any BC currently on the dive market. Near-zero inherent buoyancy means less ballast lead is needed, resulting in better buoyancy control and much more enjoyable diving. Over-molded back plate features soft TPE gel on a rigid techno-polymer plate, so the single super cinch tank strap can lock the tank in solid. Torso Flex Zone follows the curvature of your upper back and auto-adjusts for different torso lengths. Soft, comfortable TPE Straps cushion a webbing back-up system featuring swivel buckles that allow straps to assume the most natural angle for your body shape. Sternum Strap rides on a rail system and can be adjusted to suit your torso length. Crotch strap mount accepts either single 2" (50mm) webbing or dual 1" (25mm) webbing for divers who prefer an extra bit of security. Tri-Bungee System keeps iQ air cell streamlined and allows for better air distribution. Bungee is easily replaceable with no stitching required. X-Grip System provides five grip pads to ensure tank security and stability.

BC has a Cross-Flow Channel Design that lets air flow across the backpack, reducing air trapping. Accessory eyelets on the lumbar and dorsal plates, as well as multi-mount points on the harness, provide lots of attachment points for clipping on extra gear. Shoulder swivel buckles have built-in D-rings to attach octopus and gauge consoles. BC packs easily and includes travel straps and a backpack that provides room for your entire dive kit, making traveling that much easier. The Hydros Pro provides from 36 lbs. to 40.5 lbs. (16.3 kg to 18.3kg) of buoyancy depending on size and is weight integrated with a releasable weight capacity of 24 lbs. (11kg) and 9 lbs. (4kg) non-releasable capacity. Buoyancy control is facilitated with the Scubapro AIR2 Breathable Inflator mechanism, right shoulder and left bottom overpressure relief/dump valves with pull cords. The Hydros Pro comes equipped with Scubapro's AIR2 Breathable Inflator. When you took dive lessons you learned to perform specific skills to make you safe and comfortable underwater and at the surface. One of those skills was buoyancy control. Once you start diving for fun you use your buoyancy control device constantly throughout the dive. Your octopus or alternate air source device on the other hand is never used unless there is an emergency out-of-air situation. Reacting properly in an out of air situation can make the difference between an eventful dive and a tragedy. If your alternate air source and your BCD inflator device are one and the same, you will always know where to find it in an emergency. AIR2 is more than a simple inflator. Its components design takes advantage from the best regulator technology to guarantee maximum efficiency and reliability. As an inflator AIR2 provides perfect pressure control for a great buoyancy management. Ergonomic shape makes it easy-to-handle in any circumstances and it can be emptied by simply pressing the exhaust button.

AIR2's air balanced power inflator provides smooth and reliable inflation at all tank pressures. Single hose configuration eliminates the need for a separate alternate air source. Fixed VIVA flow vane for safe and uncomplicated use one-hand operation for instinctive and simple operation the self-flushing mechanism requires just one push on the purge to clear away all dirt. The AIR2 uses a classic downstream valve for less maintenance and reliability. The housing is a precision molded carbon fiber and techno-polymer impact resistant design that weighs 6.7 oz. (190g). Included with the BCD and AIR2 is a 3/8" threaded low-pressure hose for attachment to the first stage regulator and owner manuals.
