With over 40 years of research, development and testing, Riffe's reels have been proven to deliver the performance required while landing your prized catch. Reels are best used while spearfishing in shallow water where current is flowing or around structure that would tangle float lines or cause too much drag to dive effectively. Spearfishing in kelp, around oil rigs, shipwrecks, jetties and bridges are some environments in which you would benefit from using a reel. If blue water hunting, a reel works well for paddy hopping, shooting smaller fish like mahi, yellowtail, small wahoo, uluas, etc.

Low-profile designs made of composite materials (nylon & fiberglass) including heat treated aluminum parts with a hard anodized surface. Lighter weight and lower profile aid in quicker tracking and maneuverability. The Riffe Horizontal N.F. (nylon/fiberglass) Reel features a clutch type drag with 4 positions activated by a slide lever on the side of the reel. The only reel on the spearfishing market with a 4-drag position. Stop #1 of the drag is a free spool position, stop #2 is a light drag position, stop #3 is a medium drag position and stop #4 is a heavy drag position. Foolproof drag system provides easy line retrieval. Compact and Light weight: Low Pro weighs 6 oz. (170g) and the Original weighs 6.5 oz. (184.3g).

This glass filled nylon reels are corrosion resistant. Stainless-steel bail to prevent line tangle. Assembled with 10-24 screws for mounting on Riffe spear guns. Euro Series and other Riffe models using threaded inserts or may be mounted with wood screws placed in a pre-drilled hole. 2 sizes to choose from: Low-Pro holds up to 125' (38m) of line, has a spool measuring (OD) 3.875" (9.8cm) with a spool width of (ID) 1" (2.54cm) and the Original holds up to 200' (60m) of line, has a spool measuring (OD) 3.875" (9.8cm) with a spool width of (ID) 1.5" (3.8cm). Both models include reel line. The Spectra line has a 600 lbs. (272kg) breaking strength. Mounts on all Riffe spearguns as well as other manufacturers that feature similar barrel shapes. Fits on flat and radial gun stocks with proper mounts. The spool size is the same as Riffe's Vertical CFN Reel accepting up to 200' (60m) x 600 lbs. (272kg) Spectra Line (included).

Comes with (x2) 10-24 3/4" stainless steel head hex bolts for mounting on Riffe Euro Series and other Riffe models using thread inserts or may be mounted with wood screws placed in a pre-drilled hole. Radial Mount:

Comes with (x2) #10 1-1/4" hex head screws for mounting directly into wood stock. Note: Frequent assembling and disassembling of reel will expose wood to the elements, compromising original wood threads. If you are planning this practice, threaded inserts are highly recommended.
