If you send your height, weight and waist size, I can help you decide the size you would need.BRIAN M : Bought for daughter; she sized up one size for better hood, neck & shoulders fit. (My son and I did the same for the Men's version for the same reason.) We wore UNDER 7/5 wetsuits in the Pacific (Cabo) 2 weeks ago (1st time we had tried hoods) and we were very cozy. Waist and armholes were a little loose but not so loose as to bunch up when worn under our wetsuits, and shoulders, neck and hood were just comfortably snug. I've read of others wearing them OVER wetsuits, but we like the feel of these worn UNDER.KIMBERLEY F : It fits as expected based on the measurements given in the Pinnacle size chart. The size names are a bit unusual and the sizing is different from other brands, so just go by the measurements given in the chart.SARAH E : I am a petite person (5' 3" and 110 lbs) and got this vest in size S. In normal clothes I wear a XS, but in scuba gear I wear a S. Like all wetsuits, getting the vest on is not easy (mostly due to the neck), but a size M would be too big, especially when I wear it under my full body wetsuit (which is also a S).
Shopper : is the pinnacle merino lining a synthetic or a wool based product?NANCY G : I can not tell by looking at it as it looks a lot like standard wetsuit material, but the text implies it is merino wool - anti-bacterial and 35% warmer due to that.Steve S : This is a merino wool lined vest. The merino wool does in fact keep you warmer.JEFFREY R : Hmm. It's neoprene lined with Merino wool panels. It really does a great job of keeping me warm. I wear it over a skin with a Lycra beanie over my long hair. (Keeps my hair from pulling when I pull the hood on.). Over that, I wear a Camaro semi dry suit. I know it sounds like a lot, but I am usually very cold. And now you far more info than you ever asked for! But, they also have a photo of a Merino sheep so I would suspect there is Merino wool somewhere in their lining system. I bought a 3mm for me (male) and both a 3mm and 7mm (female) for my daughter. The hooded vest stops any "flow through" down your neck and back. It will add comfort to your dives and extend your dive season. Also-we notice it does not add any bouyancy. We highly recommend this item it will be money well spent.JEFFREY R : No, it does not have a zipper, but I don't find anymore difficult to put on than any of my other gear. Perpetually cold, I wear it combined with a Comaro semi dry suit. When I first got the vest, I had never worn a wetsuit of any kind and had some trouble getting the vest/hood over my head. Now I am accustomed to it, and have no problems. Because the vest fits well, it is warm. I wear it under a 7 mm wet suit when I dive in the Atlantic (Gloucester, MA), and wish I had worn it when diving in Kauai, HI.TRENA K : No zipper. Easy to get on and off though.AMY H : It doesn't have a zipper. I actually found it a bit hard to get into. But even worse for me was the feeling of claustrophobia once i had it on. The chin part came up too high and just overall felt constricting. I ended up cutting the hood off and just using it as a vest. If you are looking for a hood, I would suggest buying just a hood without the attached vest.

It worked

LP was out of stock on Men's sizes so I tried a Medium/Large women's whose measurement are almost exactly the same as a Mens Small. Fit beautifully except the neck was just snug enough to make me feel slightly uncomfortable. This is more a statement about me than the product. I finally opted for a Pinnacle Men's V neck because it does not add bouyancy.

Too Constricting

I ordered up a size but found this to be way too tight around my neck. I started to go into a panic attack when I tried to remove it and was having trouble breathing. I ended up cutting myself out of it. It fit fine thorughout the torso, but is not stretchy enough to be easy to get off and on or feel comfortable while it is on. The men's one seems fine. My husband likes his.

Way too small

I could not even get my head into the hood part. I ordered up according to the size chart. Had to return and am afraid to reorder. I don't know if it is a good product or not.

Super warm!

I paired this hooded vest under my pinnacle 7mm full suit and I was toasty warm in 58 F water (but not too warm!). The vest blocked the tiny bit of water flow I get through my wetsuits zipper, and it was super convenient when running to the potty to only have to deal with my outermost layer. One thing to note however, I found that the hood constricted my neck on land if I wasn't looking straight forward - which caused problems putting my gear together. Luckily, it's easy to take the vest off between dives and remembering to assemble my rig beforehand should solve my problems. I would highly recommend this product.

Essential for your winter Caribbean trip

Pinnacle's unique Merino-Elastiprene 5mm Hooded Vest can be worn by itself or with a dive skin or shorty in warm waters, under a 3mm or 5mm suit in temperate waters, or layered with a thicker suit in cold waters to make any dive more enjoyable. All of Pinnacle's Hooded Vests feature the Merino lining system and have 3mm sleeveless vests attached to the hood. The Elastiprene rubber makes the hooded vest more comfortable than others, and the Merino lining makes it warmer than any other hooded vest of similar thickness.

Merion also does not promote the growth of bacteria, making it hygienic and reduces odor. The hood section is equipped with a 3mm face seal with smooth skin seal can be trimmed to custom fit the face mask seal. Hood has a non-direct automatic vent that allows air to escape as necessary from the top of the hood while restricting water to re-enter. This hooded vest is extremely durable with stress disks added to all internal seam intersections for added strength, and all seams are double glued and blind stitched. Hooded vest is gray in color and is available in multiple sizes.
