ANDREW C : how do i determine sizing for this item?ADRIAN W : I followed the size chart on their website. My "circumference of head at widest point" measurement was 23 inches and my "circumference of neck" measurement was 15.5 inches. I ordered a large. Fits great, was a little snug for first few dives, (not enough to cause concern or discomfort), but loosened a little after 6 - 8 dives for an even more comfortable fit. After about 50 - 60 dives now, still fits like one of my favorite wet suits. Have tried several other hoods but nothing comes close to this one.SCOTT H : I used the size of another hood as a reference for sizing this hoodPAULA G : There is a size chart on the product page. It will walk you through the measurements to help you determine the correct sizing.ED R : You have to make an educated guess. Leisure Pro will probably exchange for another size. I have a large head, so a 2xl works for me. The face may be cut to fit your mask.STEVEN H : Hi, find a cloth tape and measure the circumference of your head at the middle of the forhead. Go to the sizing chart and order from there. You can always return it for another as long as you didn't dive with it or get it wet.LAURA V : The best way to determine the fit is to try it on. In the end that's what it will take. As a rough guess as a starting point, for relatively lean guys in general I think the size of the hood roughly matches the size of the suit. If your head is larger than average go up one size. If you head is smaller than average go down one size. You may have to return it for a different size.
Lindsey M : I just measured my head and found out that it is 21 1/4 inches around the fatest part. Then I measured my neck and found that it is 13 inches. So I am inbetween an XS and a S. Which should I get?MARY J : I have been very happy ice diving with a size M with back zipper. My head measures 21 3/4" ( I have baby-fine thin hair) and my neck is 13" My face is thin, oval and slightly long. Hope this helps. IKRAG K : Hi Lindsey. I bought this hood for diving in the cold waters of the Pacific Northwest and love it. I think that they size a little small. Personally, I would get the Small and try it on. I think Leisurepro has a fairly liberal return policy (just don't dive it......). I think you'll like the hood! KragADRIAN W : My measurements are 22.75" and 15.75". I ordered a large. It fits very snug, but I shave my head, so that's ok. I would recommend you step up to small so it will not be as stressful on your hair when removing. Also, in 2 years of use, I have had little to no stretch. Very little water penetrates. Hope this helped.JOHN B : I can't help much. I need a large to an extra large and have not been able to buy an off the shelf hood that fits.LAURA V : If you are between sizes I recommend that you go with the larger size because it will fit over the neck of your dry suit comfortably. You don't want the combination of the hood and suit to be too tight around your neck and restrict the blood flow to your head. Increasing pressure at depth will make that problematic. You might get a little water flow in the hood, but that is better than the alternative. The hood has a good seal around the face so it shouldn't be a problem.

Great hood

Great hood with little stretch to it. Ideal for diving in cold water temperatures or shoveling snow in 30 degrees and below. I would suggest get a size larger for better comfort.

Great for drysuit

Picked up for my boyfriend when he went dry for New England ocean dives (so far only used in the summer/early fall, tough) He loves it. He went up a size vs the size chart.

Nice and warm.

This hood is nice and warm even in water in the 50’s. It’s good price for the value. Just be warned that they run a little smaller so if you don’t like a snug fit you may want to go up a size bigger. I’m about average build and my large is just big enough to fit with a little stretch.

Comfortable and warm

I dive mostly in the Monterey area, where the water temperature is usually in the low 50's or high 40's. This hood is warm without being too restrictive. Easy to get on and off. Fair price.

7 mm, I don't think so

Ok, so I purchased a 7 mm hood. No I didn't, it's not 7 mm. Read the product description carefully. Well, that doesn't work either because LeisurePro doesn't have that quite right either. Maybe I'm too new to cold water diving, but I thought 7 mm meant 7 mm. Not here, the face panel is 5 mm and the neck panels are 3 mm. Hey I have no complaints with the hood, it kept me warm last summer/fall through the New England summer, but it's the only hood I've ever worn, so I have nothing to compare it to. I take issue with the company labeling it a 7 mm hood. Other companies, e.g. Waterproof, label their hoods reflecting the thickness actually used. For example they'll say right up front by labeling a product 5 mm/7 mm or 7 mm/10 mm, not just call it a 7 mm or 10 mm hood. Pinnacle is being disingenuous.

God quality, good price but the sizes run small. I usually war a large - X-Large and the X-Large I ordered was very tight.

Pinnacle 7mm Drysuite Hood

This is the best dry suit hood I have ever used. It is warm and easy to get on and off. I use it for all dives because of the ease of getting it on and off and it keeps me warm with my semi-dry suite.

Wished I'd seen a profile view

I returned an originally ordered wool-lined hood for the smaller one reported. Customer Service was good, although I was disappointed when I was informed that the wool lined hood was being discontinued and I couldn't get that one in a smaller size. The main reason I bought the hood from Leasure Pro is their policy to allow exchanges to get accurate fit. Somewhat disappointed.

Pinnacle's 7mm Dry Suit Hood is constructed to keep a diver's head warm and comfortable while diving in very cold waters. Constructed from 7mm titanium lined nylon 2 neoprene throughout the head area, with 5mm smooth skin face seal and 3mm short collar covers dry suit neck seal for added warmth. Face seal can be trimmed to any desired size. Hood has reflective front patch and rear pattern for instant recognition and safety. Hood can be worn with any brand dry suit. Hood has a non-direct automatic vent that allows air to escape as necessary from the top of the hood while restricting water to re-enter. The hoods seams are double glued and blind-stitched for strength and durability. The Pinnacle 7mm Dry Suit Hood is available in multiple unisex sizes and is black in color.
