Mares Intro Package

The Mares Prime, comfort and style in a BCD that will amaze you. The Prime BCD provides stowage for your octopus regulator & gauges, w/roomy zippered pockets & 5-heavy-duty techno-polymer D-rings for accessory storage & attachment. The Prime's air cell is made from durable Cordura 420 nylon with a polyurethane laminated interior. The BCD has a mono-plate backpack system w/handle. Prime is ideal for people who want to get started with their diving adventure.

The Prime is a Jacket Style BCD providing ample lift with 31.3 lbs. to 52.9 lbs. (14.2 to 24 kg) of buoyancy in its size range. Shoulder straps, adjustable chest strap & a waist strap are all equipped w/squeeze-style side-release buckles that along w/adjustable cummerbund provide a custom fit & ease of donning/doffing. Buoyancy control is established with the Ergo inflator & 2 rear quick-dump/over-pressure relief valves. The Ergo Inflator has been designed according to ergonomic guidelines. Intuitive to use and offers maximum grip, the Ergo Inflator comes standard with a 3/8" threaded low pressure quick-disconnect hose. The Prime weighs 6.2 lbs. (2.8 kg). The BCD comes with an integrated weight pocket system that has inside hook & loop to section the pocket in case you don't use the full capacity. The most modern & reliable integrated weight system: spacious, simple, & easy to use. Weight pockets are made of durable polyester 600 & ABS plastic material for long life. The Weight Pockets can hold up to 13 lbs. (6 kg) each.

Lightweight & reliability is what the Mares Rover 15X Regulator provides for the diver, w/regulator weighing only 35.45 oz. (1,005 g) w/hose. Reliability does not mean lack of high performance with the combination of the Mares 15X 1'st-stage & Rover 2'nd stage. Comfort comes with the Mares 29.5" (75cm) long Superflex Hose.

The chrome plated marine brass 1'st stage is a balanced diaphragm design which is inherently environmentally sealed. The diaphragm membrane transmits the pressure changes to the internal mechanism eliminating the need for the surrounding water to enter the intricate mechanism. The Rover 15X uses A.C.T. Advanced Coating Technology. This technology created to optimize performance, safety & reliability. The valve is covered w/hard Polyurethane (PU) & sealing surface is a layered w/soft PU for a perfect seal. Tri-material (brass, soft PU & heavy-duty PU) reaches new levels of durability. The valve is 600% more durable than its predecessor.

Another unique feature of the 1'st stage is the dynamic flow control (DFC). The DFC system minimizes the intermediate pressure drop during inhalation. The 15X 1'st stage guarantees a stable flow of air, even under extreme conditions. The 1'st stage is equipped w/4 LP ports w/3/8" threads & 2 HP 7/16" thread ports for attachment of gauges.

The techno-polymer 2'nd stage has superior performance. The patented mesh design of the second stage cover reduces the pressure of water flowing onto the regulators diaphragm & minimizes free-flow. Even in a strong current it eliminates the need for a knob to de-tune your air delivery system- advance technology through basic physics. All Mares 2'nd stages are a reliable downstream valve design & offer the unique patented Vortex Assisted Design (VAD) system. The air bypass tube conveys air to the mouthpiece creating a swirling vortex with a low-pressure area in the center that keeps the diaphragm down during inhalation, for very sensitive & easy breathing at all depths. Mares Rover 2'nd stage incorporates the Fluid Dynamic Deflector, developed after in-depth studies and tests of fluid dynamics, is engineered to receive and properly direct the airflow from the bypass tube to the mouthpiece. Combined with the VAD system it delivers very natural and effortless breathing. Rover 15X has a 3/8" threaded 31.5" (80cm) hose.

This medium-size octopus made of techno-polymer features a cover made of soft material so that the purge button is easy to push. The Rove Octopus like the Rove Primary 2'nd stage is a downstream valve design, has the VAD system, mesh-grid system and Fluid Dynamic Deflector. The Mares Rover Octopus comes with a 39" (100cm) yellow low-pressure hose and weighs 13.6 oz. (385 g) with hose.

Mares has always paid special attention and devotee's its self to ergonomic design. The material used in manufacturing Mares instruments boots, are highly shock resistant elastomer to protect the gauges accuracy and affords a secure grip in every situation with any type of glove. The compact pressure gauge with its durable brass case and techno polymer lens has a luminesce dial for easy reading in day or night diving situations. Face of pressure gauge is color coded for safe air reserve in a glance.

Pressure gauge has 0 to 5,000 psi readout with a safety reserve 1000 psi color coded in red to allow the diver to know that they are low on air. The 2000 psi to full scale is color coded in blue. The pressure gauges 7/16" UNF neoprene jacket double braided high-pressure hose has a 360½ swivel and is 36" (90cm) long. Gauge is nitrox ready to 40% oxygen out of the box.

This very accurate oil filled depth gauge reads depth from 0' to 230' and comes equipped with a maximum depth indicator needle (MDIN). The MDIN is pushed by the gauge depth needle until the diver meets their maximum depth. The MDNI will remain at the maximum depth reached for the duration of the dive to indicate the diver's deepest depth reached during the dive. This feature allows the diver to not record that depth while diving yet will be available upon surfacing for later calculations for repetitive dives. Depth Gauge is color coded for easy and safe reading at a glance. Depth Gauge has a 0' to 230' readout with a safety red color-coded section from 0' to 30'. The impact-resistant boot has multiple eyelets for attachment of clips or lanyards to keep the gauge close at hand and from dragging over the environment.
