OTS Aquacom SSB-2010 Transceiver

The Aquacom SSB-2010 transceiver is a 5-watt, multichannel single sideband underwater telephone designed with professional search & rescue teams in mind. The Aquacom SSB-2010 can be configured to operate with virtually any style Full Face Mask (FFM) or mouth mask. Standard features are: Voice Operated Transmitter (VOX), Push-to-Talk Control (PTT), squelch, 4 channels, earphone volumes, voice menu (the user can adjust the SSB-2010 underwater via the voice menu), removable transducer, and heavy-duty design.

The SSB-2010 has a nominal range of 656' to 3,281' (200 to 1,000 meters) in calm seas and a nominal range of 656' (200 meters) in very rough seas (sea state 6: 13 to 20' (4 to 6 meters). The SSB-2010's transmission band is 31 to 33 kHz with an audio frequency response of 300-4,000 Hz. The receiver sensitivity is 110dBv and the SSB-2010 has an acoustic output power of 5 watt (174.2 dB re 1 uPA at one meter).

The SSB-2010 has an operational depth of 300' (90 meters), an Auto Gain Control (AGC), 120dB dynamic range, transducer is a piezoelectric type, is powered by 8-AA alkaline cells. With the addition of a CDK-6 Surface Accessory Kit (see SKU: OTSCDK6), the Aquacom SSB-2010 is easily converted into a portable surface station.
