This system has built in plastic slider and in general is not as well as the original that I bought ~10 years ago. They still use the low profile snap buckle but there used to be a handle on the inner pocket. Additionally, the outer pockets now have stiff plastic structures which is new. This new design is also harder to dump if needed since there is now velcro connecting the inner and outer pockets; dumping is now a three step process of "unvelcro-ing", unclipping, then pulling the inner pockets out (compared to the original: unclipping then dumping). Keep in mind some may call this an improvement since you won't loose your weights even if the buckle fails, but I still prefer the originals. If you are hoping to do more tech diving I suggest pockets that take up less belt space, for knives and such.

The male screw is too long, and protrudes below the nut which allows the sharp screw end to cut other items it lays against. I am shocked OMS doesn't see this and fix it. I know there are longer versions that will always protrude if mis-used, but this one is the short version that shouldn't, and the 1.25 threads that stick out will fool someone until it is too late and they rub a hole in their wing bladder. I wonder if these weren't 'brokered' to discounters rather than scrapped. They should be about $6 each (retail), not less than $3 .... hmmmmmm.
