Questions & Answers

SUSAN K : Crazy question but can the hinge go down as well as up?  I have fused ankles so regular fins work against me. Perhaps that angle might work. I know the purpose is to allow you to walk but I’m thinking of another purpose.darrick c : Hello Susan, no, the fins would not be able to be folded downwards. Please feel free to give the manufacture a call at 847-850-5385. They might be able to help you with your questions.
MIKE R : I'm a size 11 and my boots are built into my waders. I'm right between the large and x-large. The boot is not large and cannot be removed. What size would you recommend?darrick c : Hello Mike, if the boots have a hard sole style go with the size XL. If they are a soft or medium style sole you would be good with the Large size.
russ d : I'd like to utilize these fins with a float tube for duck hunting. Will they fit over a size 12 wader boot ?james h : Its not so much the size of the boot ie size 12 it is the size of the toe box on the boot. I think one definite improvement that can be made to these fins is to offer different length security straps.RICHARD K : I can't say for sure, as I use a sz 10 boot. However, the XL size probably would allow for a sz 12 boot.ARTHUR G : Since I am size 10, I can't directly answer your question.. I wear mine with all three, stocking foot, sneaker type Simms wading shoes, and regular heavy soled wading boots. The rear straps are long enough to adjust to them all. With 3 mill stocking foot my heel protrudes just a little bit. With full on wading shoes it sticks out quite a bit. The straps are heavy duty and the mechanism holds very securely, I have never had one come loose. If you get the larger size, your waders should fit. I wish I had found these sooner, so much easier than high stepping or walking backwards in the shallows. Had mine for a few years now and the straps and hinge mechanisms are still working like new...very well made. Hope this helps.TOM P : Not sure if they would. I use them for fishing from a pontoon boat and am wearing a size 12 neoprene boot that works great but an actual wading boot might be too big. I will say these are the best fins I have ever used for fishing the past 25 years.WALTER D : I doubt it. They will not fit over my size 14 boots. I needed to buy some scuba booties to use with these. Keeps my waders safe and fit inside these fins.Richard H : Depends on the wader boot. If the boot is the smaller canvas size I would say yes. My cleated fly fishing-wader boots no. I suggest getting a pair of neopreme side zip booties to put over your wader feet, then you can both walk without the fins and still fit inside them. I use the fins with a float tube with my Simms bootie waders. Works great for me.CORDELL H : Yes they will fit. Your foot slips in and then tighten the strap in the back
JOHN B : I wear size 10 in a men's shoe. I will be using neoprene booties with my float tube fins. What size do I need?Steve S : I would suggest the Large 9/11. If you don't like the fit please call Customer Service at 800-637-6880 and exchange it for the next size through our PFF Guarantee.RICHARD K : Probably the large. Be aware that the fins come with these inserts in case the fit isn't quite snug enough. I wear crocs so I don't need the inserts. The crocs are size 10.JOHN B : Thank you Arthur and I appreciate the quick response. I just ordered my new fins and can't wait to get them. Thanks again.JAMES W : If this will help you any, I bought these fins, size 11-14 size because I wear size 13 shoe. Like you I wear the booties. Works very well. I've been well satisfied with them. I'm not convinced though the fold up feature helps me that much. When I get out of the water I just take them off. Could have bought some that weren't as expensive and done just as well. However, in defense of these fins, they are very powerful. When moving around from spot to spot go backwards - not forward. Much, much, easier. If you have any other question just let me know.DAVID S : If you are wearing just the thin booties then a large would work. If you ever decide to wear wading boots you are on the fence and I might consider an xl. I will float and wade rivers and some require a little hike in so I wear wading boots. I am a 10.5 and wear an 11 boot, having trouble finding boots that fit inside the fins due to the height and width of the sole. But one thing for sure, these fins are worth every $$$$$! They making getting in and out of the water 1000x's easier.ERNEST A : what I like about these fans is you can wear any old shoes or boots that are comfortable and you I use them on with some old shoes love themRICKY M : You wear the same size I wear get the XL. And if you wearing a boot it also will fit.ARTHUR G : I am same size and use large with booties for cold water and just the neoprene feet on my stocking foot waders for wamer. Even with vigorous kicking I have never had one come off. I use the insert to take care of some of the space with out booties. The straps allow plenty of leeway no matter what you use for foot wear. You'll be amazed at the power you have with them.
JAMES W : Thank you both for replying. I forgot to include in my previous questions -- Will wading boots fit inside these fins? I kind of doubt it but I would like to know. I wear size 14 wading boots. One poster has already said he had trouble putting his size 12 foot in them. I wonder if anyone else has had similar issues. And if anyone has tried wearing wading boots inside them.james h : a lot of boots wont fit in them so we had to find cheaper boots that work. Orvis is what I use but I think the one boot that will work very well is the Korkers with the different soles you can apply. Probably best with no add on sole. This is the option I am going to.RON S : I recently bought a pair of the flipfins but had to return them because they were too small. I am still waiting for the larger fins which are on back order and I don't have an expected delivery date yet.

Best Float tube fins out there!

Having used Caddis, Classics, and Outcast float tubes over the last 30 years as well as a Dave Scadden Skyomish Sunrise the last 7 years and all the different fins for each I have found the best float tube fins built. I now only use the Omega Amphibian Navigator Fin. Sure wish I would have tried these sooner.

Great Idea not so great in use.

as a long time float tuber I thought these fins would be the ultimate answer and in some ways they are. First in the up position they do make walking forward easier although you have to be careful because they do dig into your lower leg but even so they are lite years better than the backwards scuttle. It is not easy to set them in the down position unless you have a solid bottom underneath you same thing releasing them to the up position. Not sure how to cure that problem. The major annoyance is that they don't fit a lot of wading boots like the Simms G-4 particularly with studs, so one has to shop for a pair that do fit into the boot. Other than that they are very awkward to put on sitting in the float tube as sliding the rubber band up on your weak hand side is difficult. Still they are more convenient than most other fins and walking is way easier.

Not worth the money

I don't believe that they are worth the money. First off I ordered the ones for float tube fishing. I liked the feature that you can flip them up out of the way. It is impossible to step on this latch and release them. It pushes so hard i have two use two hands with them off to get them to disengage. They engage just as hard. They do offer more thrust then my old flippers but they are longer. They also fit very tight on my wading shoes. I wear a shoe size 13 and I ordered the XXL I went back to my old flippers anyone want to buy my Omega half price used once!

Best swim fins ever invented.

Great construction, fit very well. Only trouble I have had is locking and unlocking the fins. I use these in my float tube, and just don't have the leverage to kick enough to engage the locking mechanism. Unlocking is somewhat easier but still takes a few tries.Still, have fished in them twice now and really like them. Will figure it out.

Float tube fins

I've found this product to be a great addition to my float tube excursions. Although a little small to accommodate the boots i'm trying them with. I have a older pr in place to stretch them some. A great product for the value. I would recommend this product to float tube enthusiasts.

Move With Ease!

Easy to use, moves me at a decent pace through the water while on my float tube. The only complaint I have is that the fins are very hard to flip into the up position.

Best Float tube fins out there!

By LawrenceJ

Having used Caddis, Classics, and Outcast float tubes over the last 30 years as well as a Dave Scadden Skyomish Sunrise the last 7 years and all the different fins for each I have found the best float tube fins built. I now only use the Omega Amphibian Navigator Fin. Sure wish I would have tried these sooner.

When fishing from either a float tube or an inflatable pontoon boat, Omega Amphibian Navigator Flip-Fins are the most important and indispensable accessory. These ultra-lightweight and neutrally buoyant float tube fins will provide the maximum distance with minimum effort and best maneuverability. The best float tube fin design ever done! Navigator Flip-Fins are uniquely designed to be strapped on prior to entering the water and removed after exiting. They allow fishermen to move freely on land, bring equipment to the shore, easily get into a float tube and do other necessary movements. No more tripping over when walking backwards or "duck-walking" to the shore. Getting in and out of float tube or pontoon with Flip-Fins is easy and without worries of breaking an expensive fly rod, as in the case of donning conventional fins on. Easily move in shallow water or walk over a sand bar without removing fins.

A two-piece fin brought together by a special and durable Aqua-Hinge allows the webbed blades to fold up out of the way to allow full mobility out of the water and click down with a set of kicks once in the water. This can also be done by pressing the blade down with the back of the heel until fully locked. Navigator central web configuration contributes to increased propulsion and reduces load required during sustained kicking, while providing maximum power and best comfort at the same time. Fins foot pocket portion is designed to fit variety of wading boots or stocking foot waders.

The fins are manufactured with the finest of materials. The blades are made from a combination of soft, durable thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) and a more ridged TPE. The soft TPE web is designed to increase propulsion and reduce the load required for sustained kicking and the more ridged TPE blade inlays increase coefficient of friction on blade. The fins frame is a strong, yet elastic polypropylene G3 shell to provide overall fin strength. Side rib tapered design using a combination of materials increases elasticity while providing overall fin stiffness for increased power and kicking efficiency. The Aqua-Hinge is a heavy duty hinge featuring 316-military grade anti-corrosive stainless steel springs. The foot pocket bottoms have raised tread design with high slip resistance for walking on slick surfaces and curvature for natural walking mechanics. The fins come equipped with durable rubber fin straps that have an oversized thumb loop and squeeze-style" side-release buckles all for easy donning and doffing. Tested and endorsed by professional river guides and fishermen, fins are available in multiple sizes and colors. Fins are proudly made in the USA.
