does what you want from an octo, I have used it when my primary second stage failed to work. octopus worked fine got me through the rest of the dive. I have 2 of these on 2 reg sets. 4 stars because irs a basic octopus with rubber hose when many come with flex now. spend a few dollars more for a flex hose

Works fine, tested, but it’s an octo.

I bought this as my Octo and it serves the purpose perfectly. I just went through my cert and I was the only one with my own gear. This reg had a different flow to it. I'm sure that was due to it being new but still great product and excited to have it as my back up.

I set up a new system and used the Alpha 8 with my new oceanic alpha 10 second stage. It worked well.

When I found that parts to repair my old octopus second stage were no longer available, I purchased an Alpha 8 octopus for my system. I am using it, at present, while diving at Grand Cayman Island. I have found, by using it as my primary, that it is a very easy breathing second stage. I highly recommend the Alpha 8 second stage as both a primary, and octopus second stage.

A good solid octopus. i've owned it for at least three years it's been in the water hundred plus times and it breathes great. I would not hesitate to use it as a first stage. Oceanic has been tried-and-true from my perspective

... I wore out many regulators..used Scubapro Air2 for years ..we got new regs. & decided to this octopus..they both leaked & free flowed, causing us a lot of hassle clearing & re-purging/ We used the ball holder..some said because they hang up caused the problems???. We are glad some users had good luck..we did not!!!. We are going back to the Air2!!!

I bought this for my trip to Cancun. Leisure Pro was the least expensive I found. Worked well as my aux regulator. I have a Scuba Pro MK25 first stage and there were no issues diving past 100 feet with this.

This is a very functional octopus and decent quality. It doesn't even compare to my Sherwood SR1 primary, but for an octo it's nice. It does breath a bit hard and I would not recommend this as a primary regulator. Most important is that it does "NOT" free-flow!! What a relief

What can I say - fortunately I've never had to use it. It does not free-flow, and it breathes as easy as the second stage on the Oceanic reg.

I bought this to go with my GT3 CDX5 regulator. Its slimmer and did not free flow like the GT3 did.Using it as my alternate second stage. Its easy to see, Never had to use it, but checked it out while diving and worked great, no problems. Im sure it will be very reliable when needed. Again ask Aarron for help, he helped me get the whole set up for a great price.

I wanted another full sized Octo, and did not want to spend a bunch of cash. I've dove this Octo on about a dozen dives, not long. To date it has been very reliable, with no free flows. There is no adjustment on this Octo, so if it does have issues, it is not easily adjustable on a boat for example. This low cost Octo is doing the job I need it to do. I breaths a bit harder than my Primary (Zeagle ZX), but then again, it's detuned, and does deliver plenty of air. My last Octo had multiple adjustments, and that is what went south, so IMO less maybe better. I have dove this Octo down to 85', and tested it there. A deeper profile would make for a better judgement, but I'm betting it would dive just fine certainly to rec depths and likely well beyond.

Wife's octo leaked a little air at first but started working fine after a few minutes underwater. Maybe it was the newness?

Flow doesn't adjust at deep depths but that was to be expected. Great value though.
