Great hooded vet, comfortable. Used in Hawaii in combination with my 3 mil wetsuit. Also used in Caribbean for cooler night dives with the 3 mil. The fit was excellent. Have also used for swimming in cooler pools before they had the heaters on. For swimming, no restrictions on ar movement, and being tight fitting kept head and torso warm.

This performed as expected. As with most wetsuits in this price range, the fabric is soft so it conforms well when new but does stretch out over time. I got a month of hard everyday use before mine lost its "hug".

Good value and excellent true-to-size fit - bought last-minute for a Galapagos liveaboard trip in March after initially buying a Bare 5/3mm hooded vest (ordered from another company) which turned out to have an insanely tight neck opening which made it almost impossible to don. Wore this hooded vest instead under my 5mm Kona wetsuit for most of the trip and was perfectly cosy - only needed to add a Lavacore full suit underneath for the colder dives off Isabela and Fernadina. Roomy enough to be able to doff by myself by getting an arm inside the armholes but well-fitting enough to provide good core insulation.

Kinda silly to write a review before you get a chance to actually use the product, but Scuba.com asked, so here goes: The fit of the NeoSport XSPAN 5/3 Men?s Hooded Vest is terrific for my 6-ft, 185lb frame. I finally had to accept reality and buy a large because struggling into my medium was too difficult. The 5/3mil thickness will give me better exposure protection under my 5mil full suit when I dive the cold waters off Socorro Island next Feb. And I really love the vent at the top to release any air that might accumulate in the hood from my regulator exhaust. My only wish is that it had a side zipper like my last hooded vest to make it even easier to don, but it?s plenty flexible enough to put on without a struggle. And, like LeisurePro before them, Scuba.com was quick to ship and deliver my vest. I also love that you kept your guaranteed fit policy.

Flexible enough to be easy to get on and off (I add a zipper up the side to further help). Keeps you warm. Hood stays "tucked in".

Folks, this Neosport 5/3 XSPAN hooded vest is nearly identical to the Henderson 5/3 Thermoprene hooded vest at a value price. They are both made by Henderson. I ordered both in men's small and compared them in hand. They have the identical cut, stitching, fit and attention to detail. The stretch of the XSPAN material is identical to the Thermoprene. The only difference I can see is the vent at the crown of the hood -- and the name on the suit. The Henderson's vent appears a bit more high-tech. I liked the stretch and fit of this hooded vest. Easy to don and doff. Fit well around face. Will wear under a 5mm Henderson Thermoprene Pro full suit for extra warmth when needed. If you want to save some money, get the Neosport (unless you're all about spending more for a "name" brand".)

Absolutely love it! So glad I bought it. I wasn't sure I wanted to spend the money getting it because I already had a 7mm, and a hood, but boy am I so glad I did! This completely keeps me warm, and toasty while swimming in 55 degree waters. I also don't have to mess with tucking the hood in my wetsuit anymore. This hooded vest is amazing.

I used this with a 3mm wet suit in 73 degree water and it significantly increased how warm I stayed. I think I would have been perfect with the hooded vest and a 5mm wetsuit in retrospect.

Fits perfectly. The hood is not uncomfortable putting on and off and does not choke like a lot of hooded vests do. Adds much appreciated extra warmth under a wetsuit when it’s colder than your wetsuit is prepared for.

it was a good purchase for the price. I would only say the hood needs some attention in regards to sealing around the face. a little tighter fit to not allow air to be trapped from exhaling.

The vest is reasonably warm. It is not lined. The seams are slightly bulged, but comfortable over a rash guard. The top of the hood is a good fit to the mask, but the bottom does not fit close to your neck and chin.

Nice piece of gear. Very stretchy and comfortable. Easy on/off. The hood opening is cut well and doesn't interfere with my mask. Good way to add a hood for warm water diving when you need a little something to ward off a chill after multiple dives. I wear it over a lycra skin for tropical diving. It also works great under a full suit. The hood not only helps keep me warm, I find it reduces the wear and tear on my ears when I'm diving a lot.

As I started getting older I found I got chilled easier as I went diving, even while wearing a full 3mm wetsuit in the 80 degree Caribbean. I needed a little extra insulation without stepping up to a cumbersome 7mm suit. This vest was the perfect solution. I wore it on over my 3mm wetsuit. It gave me the extra warmth without the extra bulk. The size chart was actually fairly accurate. A large worked fine for me (5' 11", 165 lbs). I'd recommend this vest. It was a good value for the price.

Ultra soft and flexible. Great addition to my gear. I hate cold water, so I wore it under my 7mm in 62 degree water and was warm and cozy. Easy to get on and off.

Fits well and is very stretchy. I had used other vests that weren't as stretchy as this one and very comfy under my 7 mil wetsuit. Was toasty in tje 50 degree water I dove in.

Got this for some diving in only a little colder water. it was fitted and snug enough to easily layer under the 3 mil i also wore. Kept me quite warm without binding or constricting. this is the way to go to add a bit of extra warmth to the torso. BTW I have a shaved head so loosing heat there is always a problem. this solves that too.

I received it and have already worn it on three separate occasions. It fits well and protects me from the cold well. I was in the water for two and a half hours yesterday and never got cold. Wore the hooded vest, a one piece 3mm suit on top of it, then a 5mm long-sleeve jacket on top of that. The water temperature was seventy degrees (21 C). Basically I truly like this product and highly recommend it to others.

I bought this 2XL hooded vest to layer under my 3XL neosport 5mm jumpsuit. It is a perfect fit in chest and head. On the neosport size chart, I am on the high end of the 2XL, but am on the low end of the 3XL. I am 235lbs, 6'2" and 46 inch chest. I do sport a few extra pounds in the belly area, ff you know what I mean! But the 3mm vest is very stretchy and comfortable, so it compensates well.

I was scared that the 3 mm vest wasn't going to be enough for me, but it really made the difference when using it under my 7mm suit. Water here is a bit chilly. Really comfy and the sizing chart was reliable.

Feels very soft and stretchy, and fits very well. Only tried on so far, but will use it for my next dive trip to Indonesia in August. Also bought a pair of XSPAN 3mm gloves and Neosport 2mm socks, which also has the same soft and stretchy feel as the vest. Looking forward to using all of them.
