All z-drags should come with another pulley so you can set up a redirect to keep the pullers safe should the system fail

I use these pulleys in my wrap kit. I like the way these pulleys open to allow a quick bight of rope to be set then close to attach the carabiner. Three of these pulleys and three locking biners attached to Prussic knots will give you 6X pulling power to free a wrapped raft.

When creeking or trip leading, a solid pin kit is exceptionally valuable. This pulley is the perfect size for whitewater kayaking as it meets the 4:1 ratio for rope to bend that maintains rope strength. It really is 100% maintenance free. I keep two in my pin kit. It isn't the cheapest alternative but definitely is the best.

Yep, it works. The hinged design is convenient. It's really great to not have to thread the whole rope through.

Good piece of equipment for haul systems whether teaching advanced swiftwater rescue or recovering boats or rafts on the river. Prussik-minding design is great. Pulley is big/strong enough for big jobs, yet is not too cumbersome or heavy to carry.

Mid-Sized Pulley for Swiftwater Rescue Efficiency
Designed for swiftwater rescue applications, this 2" pulley provides a balance of size, strength, and weight for efficient rope handling in dynamic environments. Positioned between the Micro PMP and 3" PMP in both size and workload, it delivers reliable performance in a compact form. The high-quality aluminum body keeps the total weight at just 6 oz, making it easy to carry without compromising durability. Certified to NFPA 2500 (1983) 2022 Edition, UIAA127, and EN12278, it meets industry standards for use in professional rescue systems.
Rope Compatibility and Prusik Performance
The wide base and side plate design are optimized to mind Prusik cords up to 8mm, making this pulley well suited for mechanical advantage systems that rely on efficient progress capture. Sealed ball bearings inside the 2" sheave ensure minimal friction and smooth operation under load. The side plates are tensioned for easy one-handed use, enabling quick and secure placement along the rope during rigging. This compact but capable design makes it ideal for both in-water and technical rope applications.
Durable Construction with Functional Design Elements
Built for wet environments, the anodized aluminum side plates feature integrated holes to help reduce hydroplaning in fast-moving water. The top connection point is shaped to accept two large rescue carabiners or multiple smaller ones and allows for full rotation even when clipped. These features improve rigging flexibility and system efficiency in both field and confined-space scenarios. Manufactured in the USA, this pulley combines compact size, strength, and smooth performance for mission-ready rescue work.
