Small, lightweight, and easy to throw. The 1/4" rescue line is very strong (due to spectra core) and preferable to standard polypropolene due to its strength to diameter and strength to weight ratios.

Great product, throws well, drains well, doesn't kink. Packs easily.

Nice setup but with a name like compact I wish the bag was smaller. It seems like the bag and foam could be 10-20% smaller and still hold the entire 70', which would make it more compact for storage in my pack/boat and travel. Otherwise nice system and I'm trading in my 50' setup for this 70' kit.

A necessity, strong floating line great for across currant throws, easy to see and stores away nicely

I changed the rope out for slightly larger diameter for handling

Love this bag. Lightweight but strong. My only issue is with the plastic buckle on the bag handle. It broke after about 10 uses. Not a deal-breaker as that part is not integral to the bag?s functionality or safety. However, a metal buckle might have lasted as long as I hope the rest of this bag will.

If you are on the water you need to have one. Easy to use and repack. Don't leave home without one.

The bag is great. Stores easily in a bungee cord attached on front pillar of kayak for easy access. Rope diameter is too small for swimmers to hold in fast water. 3/8inch diameter is a better option. I have removed the supplied 1/4inch rope and replaced with 3/4inch spectra.

Though still working on the "best place" to keep it (under spray skirt, b/w legs vs behind seat vs "on top", it's size is great, 75' distance works. We'll see if the grommets pull out, but unfurls nicely.

This is my go to rope when things are going sideways fast. I love the way this thing unspools so easily. I keep mine between my knees in my boat so it is quickly accessible.

size and weight make this great to stuff into a kayak, either a creeker or a playboat. Never be without a throwrope.

Every class 5 paddler should carry this bag or an equivalent while on the river. Small and compact enough to fit in the stern of any creekboat and lightweight enough even when wet that you won't notice the extra weight. Who cares really about the weight because when the excrement hits the fan your buddies count on you to carry the proper safety gear. When carried in conjunction with the Astral Buoyancy Spectra Throw Bag you have the coverage you'll need to rope your buddy out of that nasty siphon!

Excellent 70 foot throw rope for shorter people, women because it is light enough to toss to the swimmer

I keep NRS Pro Rope in my boat. No emergency use yet, but used in swift water rescue. Accurate throwing due to the good bag design. The small diameter rope is hard for a swimmer to hold onto.

Being Safe while on the water is paramount when kayaking or when engaged in swift water activates. The NRS Compact Rescue Throw Bag is an excellent choice for swift water emergency work. Its compact shape and light weight are perfect for kayakers. Easy to carry and handle in a water environment the throw bag has bright yellow lower panels for easy identification in an emergency and 2" (5.1cm) mesh drainage panels that promote rapid water drainage and reduce drying time. A barrel-lock drawstring is incorporated in a flared nylon top for smoother throws, plus easy reloading and closure. The adjustable squeeze-style" side-release buckled strap makes for easy transport.
Inside the Throw Bag is 70' (21.34m) of 0.25" (6.35mm) polypropylene rope in high visibility yellow. The rope has 950 lbs. (431 kg) tensile strength and it floats for good visibility on the water. Internal foam flotation keeps the bag on the top of the water where you need it for rescue. The Compact Rescue Throw Bag weighs 19.2 oz. (544.3 g). Note: Rope knots reduce tensile strength. For this reason, NRS makes no claim regarding a rescue bag's strength. Maximum load indicated is for the rope alone.
