NRS Odyssey PFD Life Jacket Flare X-Large/XX-Large

Bought the NRS Odyssey PFD in mid-2023. Used for sailing and racing multihull boats on bays and lakes. Easy to adjust, and very comfortable. Designed with riser lumps down the inside back for back ventilation in the hot hot Texas sailing season. I wanted a PFD with a longer thin back - not the short thick slab meant for high back kayak seats. Those thick slabs catch on the boom when you crawl across the tramp, and don't fit very well under full trapeze harnesses. Also appreciate the pockets designed for VHF radio and GPS. I generally carry a VHF radio in the left front pocket; lip balm and sunscreen in the right front pocket; snacks in the other right pocket, and spare timer and knife in the other left pocket. You can store your whistle in the strap storage sleeve. All day comfort, fits well, not hot. Looks good, however mine faded quite a bit in 2 years. The newest Odyssey version has an improved looking dark shoulder area - won't show sweat and sunscreen stains - plus an additional pocket. I plan to upgrade to newest version ASAP

Got the Odyssey as I had Kayak experience however I purchased it for sailing. I found it comfortable and loved the padding compared to inflatables when leaning back against a hard surface. I was comfortable all day and think I made a great choice. Easy on and easy off and not hot as I had feared. Would buy again.

I just started kayaking this year at 70. I've been out once a week since May. My friend who has been kayaking for 30 yrs recommended this pfd. I find it to be comfortable and plenty buoyant. I like the zip on style. I also have a ninja pro pfd and I prefer the odyssey because it's easier to put on and take off. All in all I like this vest
