This sponge does exactly what you need it to do. It sucks up a serious amount of water. I use it mostly to sop up residual water in my kayak cockpit.

Just the right size and shape for drying up those last puddles that the bilge pump can't flush out.

Im here to tell ya, this sponge is amazing when needing to rid a area of water quickly... I put it to use recently. Was fishing on the outskirts of a mile wide lake. the find and chop came up, i had to cross the water in the kayak. When I got back to the ramp and pulled the kayak up on the trailer, i opened the back hatch, and there must have been 5 gallons of water inside. I had left my nrs sponge in the belge and went to work getting the water out. When squeezing shut and letting open, this sponge really inhales the water. i had it patted dry in a short time. I even came home and told my wife about how great it worked and wrote about it on one of my kayak brands fb pages. Very impressed with something as simple as a good sponge!!!

It's a sponge. Not sure there is much to review here. It soaks up water.

Great to have in the raft so you can quickly rinse the sand and mud off after a stop or fish fluids after a nice catch.

The printed letters are rigid, scratchy. I'm worried about leaving scratch marks on boat by using the sponge.

The NRS Deluxe Boat Sponge works perfectly and quickly picks up water, just as it should.

I use it for keeping the water under control in my pack boat. I just toss it on the floor between my legs, and pick it up from time to time to wring it out.

I like having the two different sides to clean with. It is much nice than just a cloth, that I was using prior. I also like having the ability to dry the water out with the same product.

The sponge and the cloth cover work great. The elastic string tends to lose all elasticity with time.

Really absorbs the water. The outside covering protects the sponge.

Nice sponge. Really gets all the water with the fleece cover. However the NRS printed on the sponge was cracked when it was delivered so I had a torn cover the day I got it, I would have returned it but it seems this is most likely a common problem.

I have used these for 9 years. Once in a while I will try a different one-then always go back to the NRS ones.

I use this sponge for bailing canoes and kayaks. I've never found the perfect sponge but of all I have tried, this one performs the best. I've been paddling for 51 years and have tried everything on the market (as far as I know) to sop up water in the bottom of a paddle craft. There seems to be 2 types: those that are very durable but pick up very little water, and those that pick up water very well but don't last any time. The NRS bailing sponge seems to be the best compromise that I have seen. It will pick up water well and quickly and still last a few seasons of paddling. I'm using them exclusively now but still buying everything on the shelf too.

Like the rugged cover and elastic loop. Holds more water than my peanut shaped car sponge.

its a sponge
This boat sponge works to remove that unwanted pool of water that manages to collect under your kayak spray skirt. The Deluxe Boat Sponge can absorb up to 24 fl. oz. (710 ml) of water at a time. Paddling in whitewater or the sea, this sponge will lift out sand and moisture from the bottom of your boat that traditional bilge pumps leave behind. It can be used with a bilge pump or on its own to keep your boat dry and clean. Sponge has a Terry cloth cover, wrist lanyard and measures (L x W x H) 8" x 4.5" x 2" (20.3cm x 11.45cm x 5.1cm).
