I have been a happy MD3183 owner since 2013 or before. The flexible fit was awesome whether I was wearing a Tee in 90 degree or a 100 mph suit in 30 degree weather. I ordered the new 190 as it didn't make sense to order a re-arm kit for a discontinued vest but gaining more buoyancy with the 190. However I was unhappy to find the new one has less flexibility fit than the old one and didn't even try it on with the 100 mph suit. I ordered the extension strap but needed very little of it to get the same flexibility I had. Suggestion: make the vest straps as long as th MD3183.

I have been using Mustang's Inflatable life vests for years . I use them while fishing in my waders and on my boats . They have always fit well and performed well . Recently I purchased the Fluid 2. 0 inflatable belt for my fishing waders and it doesn't fit . The belt is cut way to short it won't fit around the waist , let alone around a fishing wader or bibs and when layering. They don't make an extender belt for the inflatable waist belt . This will absolutely limits its use . The cost of giving the belt a few extra inches is minimal . Using different buckles that are not universal also limits its use . The newest designed inflatable vest are also cut small and at a cost of over $300 and still requires an extension belt , however they are also not universal buckles and don't fit the belt and cost an extra $20 dollars plus shipping . The waist belt give a chest measurement but no waist measurement where you wear that belt . Useless in sizing for a belt device. The vest inflatable fit with the proper extension belt , but just making it a few inches longer would have avoided the need for an extension belt . " Big problem" for big people . we all know that wearing a life vest can save lives , but only if they fit ! All extender belt should use the same universal buckle for all your devices .

Needed extender to fit flotation around survival vest. Works great in the hangar, hope I never have to test it in the wild.

This extender is allowed by USCG if the user's chest is larger than 52" and they are using a universally-sized vest...which I am.

Have too many small PFDs or some people who are extra-large and need a bit more belt length? The belt extender allows wearers with larger size requirements to use most Mustang Survival inflatable PFDs and will add 12" (30.5cm) to the waist belt. This belt extender fits PFDs with 1.5" (38mm) squeeze-style side-release buckles. Strap is made from durable nylon webbing with a non-corrosive impact resistant plastic buckle. In Canada, wearing a belt extender voids the Canadian ULC approval for the PFD. In the United States, wearing the belt extender voids the US Coast Guard approval UNLESS the wearer has a chest size over 52" (130cm), in which case wearing an adult universally-sized PFD with a clip-on body strap extension DOES NOT void the approval.
