Great low profile life vest that makes moving around easy. However, be careful with the yellow hand pull as it can easily get caught up in some fishing gear. In fact, in my case, it got caught up when throwing out a hoop need and the life vest engaged immediately. Thus, I had to order an expensive re-arm kit already.

When you hear the saying "you get what you pay for" that applies to this life jacket. Super comfortable to wear and you don't even notice its on. I am a big guy and it fits me great. We love how safe and secure we feel while also being comfortable! They're such an upgrade from our old, bulky lifejackets. Purchased this HIT Hydrostatic Inflatable PFD a few weeks ago due to a pending trip to Florida and it's related boating in the Ocean and Gulf of Mexico in a bassboat. Chose my purchase via Mustang Survival as I wanted the longest up to date Expiration date as these units should be "rearmed" every 60 months as indicated on the rearming piece on the gear. Received gear within a few days of ordering. Came exactly as expected. The PFD is comfortable over a light shirt. My primary concern was chafing around the neck and that is non-existent. I wear it all day long without even noticing it. Yesterday, I saw a video of a fisherman who fell out of his boat. His partner didn't know what to do and did not have the strength to help the victim climb back into the boat. Luckily, another boater stopped, boarded the boat and got the victim back onto the boat! He was exhausted from just hanging on to the boat as he sank immediately after letting go of the boat. I used to race big sailboats and understand the dangers. This was not my first Mustang Survival PFD. I have had others as well that were not hydrostatic. They have opened when in storage due to boat humidity. Any savings from going the cheaper route were spent on re-arming. Friend had the less expensive version inflate when working a winch on the low side of a racing boat when his side of the boat healed over too much. It inflated and there went his safety PFD for the rest of the trip. Buy Once, Cry Once. Hope I helped you decide.

Seems really nice. Haven't used it on the water yet . It's cold & been using the mustang accel 100 foam vest. The inflatable fits great & feels comfortable. After reading 100s of reviews & watching YouTube videos about inflatables mustang is the most reliable & best. I wanted the best so I purchased a mustang HIT.

Fast shipping and fits great. Bought the new one for my Son since we just got a new bass boat. I've had my original Mustang HIT PFD since 2006 when I had a bay boat. I fish by myself sometimes, so wanted the best if I went in the drink. Very comfortable and cool in Texas heat.

Very satisfied with my Mustang HIT PFD. My previous positive experience with Mustang PFD products led me to purchase the H.I.T. Model. The extra floatation rating is important during these winter months when I am wearing additional clothing while in my boat. I feel much safer should I go overboard while wearing my new H.I.T PFD

Aside from maximal buoyancy, and auto deployment which keeps you alive in the event of a serious accident, the thing I love most about this item is the wearability. I am on the water 330+ days a year through the bundled up winter, and into the heat of summer, with everything in between. This PFD is designed with comfort and safety in mind. When heavily layered, I can expand the straps to fit over insulated bibs and jacket, and then retract them when wearing shorts and a t-shirt. With the flat profile of the item, there is also no issue turning my head when under power. At times, when necessary, I can fish comfortably with the PFD for extra safety when the deck is unstable. This is my third Mustang PFD and I am very happy, so much so I have purchased them for my wife and child as well.
