Shopper : Trying to get instructions manual for this computer please help?MORDECHAI S : You can download from MaresMORDECHAI S : You can download on the internet. I think from Mares website.Marcelo D : hello friend, enter the adress below mares / shop / en-IC / downloads / manuals / computer-manuals / quad-4WILLIAM M : I've been able to download manuals for the Mares Puck and Mares Puck Pro from the Mares website, although I don't recalling looking for this one in the past.TOM M : Google "mares quad wrist computer manual" and download it.
Shopper : How big is the display window?GRANT M : The numbers are large and easy to see. The screen doesn’t have a lot of confusing clutter, making it quick to read the information you need.GRANT M : It is large enough to be easily viewed during a dive and the light helps in low vis situations.
Neil F : Have backlight during night dive?WILIAM W : YesKIM J : Yes. It’s a great computer. Easy to read and to navigate through the various functionsCRYSTAL A : There is a backlight you can activate but it doesn't stay on and you wouldn't want it to.WILLIAM R : Yes Neil and it works good during night dives. You can adjust how long or short it stays illuminated.STEVE F : Yes Neil and it works good during night dives. You can adjust how long or short it stays illuminated.
Jill K : Does the nitrox percentage stay set until you change it or does it revert back to air during surface intervals?CYNTHIA F : It stays 8ntil you change it.William R : Stays set.WILIAM W : Stays at percent set till changed back to 21%Joseph L : Mine holds it Nitrox setting and I have to manually set back to Airduane s : It will stay at the percent you set it at until you physically change the percentage or change it back to regular airRaymond M : It stays set until you change it. I'm very happy with this model; a great value.KIM J : It stays in nitrox mode until you change it back to airSUSAN S : It stays where you set it.MORDECHAI S : I bought it as a backup computer and generally leave it set to air, so don’t remember if it stays sane for dive two as dive one - or goes into “worse case scenario mode” (79% nitrogen 99% oxygen) if you don’t reset between dives. But this is something definitely covered in the owner’s manual. Download the Manuel .PDF directly from Mares and you’ll find your answer.
jose manuel p : Does this computer provide the 2 minutes deepstop once you reach 80 feet or more ?Eloy V : Hello, Yes it does via visual an audible signal. It´s a solid piece of equipment that ive used many times. Thanks for contacting me.DREW W : The Quad does have a Deep Stop function. This can be turned off by user. The trigger for the stop is proprietary...according to the manual it is triggered when approaching ndl...depth is not specified. You can either do a 2 min deep stop, or two stops at a minute each. The manual is available on lineFRED D : No it does not. Other than this I really like it.MORDECHAI S : Sorry I don’t know. I just picked up this computer as a redundant computer in case my primary computer (Atomic Cobalt) ever fails mid dive, but haven’t had a chance to dive with it yet. Still, regardless whether or not the comouter requires a deep stop as part of its algorithm, you can certainly choose do a 2 min stop at on the way up, then continue with your ascent. That’s what I usually do.

Delivered what I was looking for

Was looking for larger and more crisp display. The Quad delivered on that while keeping the overall size reasonable. It's also farily easy to navigate with 4 buttons.

Excellent Primary Dive Computer

Mares Quad is a great dive computer with everything you need for air or Nitrox. The large screen is so much better than a puck computer. It’s size is comfortable and doesn’t get in my way. Of all the computers I have had this one is the best overall value and function.

Still going strong after 2 years

This has been my entry level dive computer from rescue through open water instructor. I like that i can use bluetooth with the optional transmitter to send log info to my android phone. Over 225 dives and battery still shows full.

Great Computer

Very nice computer with lots of personalized settings possible. The only thing that can be improved is the clock, which isn’t shown in dive mode.

Can see the numbers~yay!

I needed to replace my two old Suunto Mosquitos as they aren’t working consistently anymore and they discontinued making them. Also, I needed to find a new wrist computer with numbers large enough for me to see. I am 71 years, a recreational diver, with failing eyesight. The Mares Quad did the trick. I used it for the first time on 17 dives in Cuba. I haven’t tried using the log yet, so I’m hopeful that will be easy. It took a bit of doing to get it to register the EAN as I would program it and it would go back to AIR, but we finally got it to read 32 instead of Air. I think I need to study the manual and work with it a bit more. Overall, I am very pleased with Mares Quad!

Great help!

Jazz was amazing. She made the process so easy and quick! Will definitely buy from LP again. It’s a “no worry return” type of attitude. They want you to be happy with the products you buy.

Great dive computer

I've used it in both fresh and salt water. And it performed very well. I love all the information both during the dive and afterwards. The instructions it comes with are near worthless. Get with another diver who has one and you'll be logging your dives in no time.

Great Dive Computer with the Extra Bells & Whistles

Very clear and legible numbers. Love the fact that the safety stop countdown shows seconds as well. Very easy to navigate and change settings. Also does deep stops, deco stops and info, time in and time out info and 3 different conservation modes. Would definitely recommend this DC for the advanced recreational diver who wants to take diving up a notch.

Big bulky and does the job.

Large screen, very intuitive and a lot to like. I wear reading glasses so it is perfect for reading the screen at depth. I have used it at 40 meters multiple times and would recommend it. As a side note I did my first two nitrox dive using it and it was flawless.

Mares Quad Wrist Computer Review - Scuba Gear Reviews

This Mares wrist computer is great, got it just before my trip to Bonaire and I dived 3 and sometimes 4 times a day for 6 days. Clear, nice big screen, easy to read and easy to understand, on the night dives it was perfect, just enough light to see all the info I needed to see. After over 22 dives the battery was still at 90%, the price is great, my buddies couldnt believe I paid under $400.00 for it. A Great Dive Computer.

Great Dive CPU at the right price

I would like to say that this an excellent entry level computer and that it really should be the one sought after before the puck mounted style cpus or the one button touch! This CPU is built with the diver who wants to dive more than a few vacations in mind while still being simple enough for the newest of divers. Things I love about it : has air, nitrox and bottom timer settings as well as altitude in case i ever go north of florida and its sea level geography. The screen is large but not so insane that you think its cumbersome, the zoop felt larger and more awkward than this quad. Also the bungee mount is a huge bonus. Its super easy to navigate and idiot proof for those rare occasions you get a little narced Things im not a huge fan of is the lack of a screen cover so ill probably be attaching it to my spg when going for lobsters so i dont royally mess it up. On top of that I would expect something better to hook it up to a cpu then spending another 50$ on a computer cable but i guess thats where they get you. In realitly ill probably max out its number of dives and then order the coord so i dont miss out on that profile info.

Perfect for me. Pretty much everything I need in an advanced recreational computer. No, I'm not interested in any other option besides air and nitrox and I don't need an intergral compass. I do need a SIT reset, P0 and down dive options, alarm silencing, big screen and big legible data. Super easy to find change settings and hit "ENTER" Much easier to use than I expected. If I was doing to put a wish list together for everything I wanted in a recreational computer for an experienced diver - it would be almost exactly what is delivered in this item. The only thing I wish it had was a rechargeable AA battery instead of the CR.
