I like this octo, and I'm happy with it despite 2 issues. The pros, it's ambidextrous, so you don't have to worry about weird positioning or twisted hoses when you donate this octo. Also, it breathes great. I know this because I had to deploy it for myself during a dive recently, due to a minor issue with my primary second stage. The cons, it wants to pull upward slightly. Take your regular reg and push up on it slightly from the bottom while it's in your mouth. That's what this octo feels like. I wouldn't want to breathe on this reg for a full dive, but as an octo, it's fine. Also, I was hoping to be able to clip it to a D-ring on my BCD using the mouth piece retainer clip, but in the configuration I was planning to use, the Loop octo free-flowed in the water. I have to secure it with the bent-hose technique through a D-ring, and I don't love the bent hose situation. But again, it works fine. But the benefits of being ambidextrous make this still the octo that I want.

I purchased the loop octo because I already had the loop primary regulator which I really like. It breathes just as nicely as the loop regulator, but because of the unique configuration and a long hose It is really bulky to add to my setup. I was using the oceanic Slimline 3 previously and I prefer that one much more because it has a much slimmer profile, the loop octo is just too large.

The Loop Second Stage is a vertical regulator design that can be mounted on the divers right or left, providing the ultimate freedom of movement with under the shoulder" hose positioning. This second stage octopus is a mid-sized techno-polymer second stage regulator with its simple, yet reliable downstream demand valve design. The Loop's integrated Sagittal Vortex Assisted Design (S-VAD) system creates a swirling vortex with a low-pressure area in the center of the regulator that keeps the diagram down during inhalation, for very sensitive and easy breathing at all depths. The Loop also has twin exhaust valves for ease of exhalation and oversized silicone rubber purge button for easy clearing of regulator. Regulator comes with a 43.3" (110cm) 3/8" threaded low pressure hose, and weighs 13.3 oz. (374 g) including the hose. Hose and purge cover are bright yellow for easy identification in out of air situations. Regulator is Nitrox ready up to 40% oxygen out-of-the-box.
