Remembering to feed the hose under my arm wasn't a big deal. Not having any venturi or other dials was what I wanted. It worked fine even under the challenge of my rescue course. Fine on a deep dives also. I forgot about it after maybe 3 minutes of my first of 8 dives so far. It breathes without a thought.

Purchased to get a couple DIN regulator sets for my kids to start getting into SCUBA. Tried it out for the first time...Not a fan of the loop. Breathes fine. Hose coming from below is terrible. Will definitely swap out the second stage. Not that it's a surprise that the hose feeds from below the second stage. I just was not anticipating disliking it so much. The hose is annoying over the shoulder as much as it is under the arm. There wasn't any position that I could get in that it didn't get in the way at some point. Again, breathes fine and I don't hate anything about air delivery. Just do not like the positioning of the hose.

The 15X 1st stage was great and both 1st and 2nd stages of the Loop 15 breathed very well, but the underarm routing of the 2nd stage tugged at my mouth when I moved my head making the 2nd stage very uncomfortable while diving. I returned it and got an almost new Mares Prestige 15X witch I just loved (and so did my wife, she got my Prestige!) As always, Leisure Pro was just wonderful making sure I was happy with my purchase!

Very happy with this regulator. I got the Loop October as well.

Effortless breathing and the hose routing is not awkward at all.

It takes some getting used to having the hose under my arm versus over my shoulder. My gear profile is tighter though. I feel the hose rubbing so I guess it takes some getting used to. It pulls because i think the length is a little short. Maybe personal preference. I just used it for a week of multiple dives. It's a little noisy on inspiration but quiets after a few minutes at depth. For the price it's fine.

I've bought this regulator last July 2018 and used it in all my dives since the purchase.I've spent a long time before buying my first regulator and planned to acquire one that could fit in my budget without bankrupt me. Moreover, I needed to buy one I could not only trust but one I could find replacement parts and have representatives in Brazil. I was in doubt between Scubapro and Mares. Scubapro was a little bit expensive for me in that moment what made Mares an easy no brainer choice. Brand choosen, I "just needed" to select between all options when I've found this Mares Loop regulator model. The idea of no hose in the right side of my face caught my attention. I've asked around and while all divers (easily more than 30 divers) I've questioned had already heard about, no one had ever tried or even saw the Mares Loop. It checked all my whishes: balanced regulator; can be used with NItrox; 1st and 2nd stage; easy to find replacement parts in case of need. So far I am very happy with the Mares Loop (since I've bought it, I've used it in about 10 dives) and plan to keep it for a long time without replacement for a better model. Easy to breath with, light weight and smooth. Initially I was concerned about the possibility of jaw fatigue, what proved to be just a concern. Never had any probllems regarding fatigue. Sometimes I feel a slight push up but nothing to worry about, but one thing you must be aware: in case your regulator is knocked out of your mouth, forget the procedures you learned during the certification course. The Mares Loop Regulator, with the vertical second stage, is planned to be used with the hose passing by under your right arm instead of outside your right shoulder. So, in case it somehow is knocked out of your mouth underwater, The Sweep Recovery Method (procedure where you lean toward the right, which should help the regulator float away from you, unless it is snagged on something; touch your thigh and then slide it back to touch the tank on its side; from there, just take that hand and raise it straight out from the side, as if you are signaling someone; Then swing it in front of you while taking your other hand to sweep along that arm to catch the hose) will not help much. You will need to find out how to recover your regulator in those particular situations. Concluding, I really like this regulator and for sure recommend it if you are looking for a good regulator, easy to breath, and if you are not a traditionalist

Introducing the first-ever vertical second stage combined with Mares 15X first stage, offering reliability, compactness, and top performance. Equipped with the DFC system, it caters to divers' needs at any depth. The chrome-plated marine brass first stage features a balanced diaphragm design that is environmentally sealed, ensuring protection from contaminants like salt, sand, and chlorine.
The 15X utilizes A.C.T. Advanced Coating Technology, optimizing performance, safety, and reliability. The valve boasts a hard polyurethane (PU) cover and a soft PU sealing surface, ensuring durability. The first stage also includes dynamic flow control (DFC), guaranteeing a stable air flow even in extreme conditions. It comes with 4 LP ports (3/8") and 2 HP ports (7/16") for various attachments.
The Loop Second Stage, a unique vertical regulator design, can be mounted on the diver's right or left for ultimate freedom of movement and "under the shoulder" hose positioning. This mid-sized techno-polymer second stage features a reliable downstream demand valve design. With an integrated Sagittal Vortex Assisted Design (S-VAD) system, the Loop ensures sensitive and easy breathing at all depths. It also has twin exhaust valves for effortless exhalation and an oversized silicone rubber purge button for easy clearing.
The regulator includes a 43.3" (110cm) 3/8" threaded low-pressure hose and weighs 40.4 oz. (1,146g). It's Nitrox ready up to 40% oxygen right out of the box. Enjoy diving with this innovative and versatile regulator that promises both performance and freedom.
