No pockets (for flashlight, etc.) nor cummerbund (wide waist strap). Buckle is metal (stainless(?) but who knows how soon will rust and looks like will wear out the belt. Buckle is almost impossible to adjust. Returned.

Nice BCD. Be mindful that this is a back inflated bcd so not the best bcd for floating on the surface as you are pushed to your stomach. Can be very compact if needed for travel.

It is perfect for my diving habits of 3-4 dives a year. I have had for years with no issues none so whatever.

I have tried a few different BCDs and this one seems to have issues with purging air, from any of the three purge valves.

This is a good back inflated BC. It makes you feel more free underwater. But: - Worst thing about it is that hard plastic part pushed by the tank into the flesh (or fat in my case :P) of your lower back sides with considerable pain! - Pockets are very limited and hard to access underwater. - When packed, it's not as small or light as expected. - There are some weak plastic parts that is easy to break .

Has functioned very well for the past 3 years while also taking it as a travel bc. Not much as far as storage but I prefer less bulk. They trim pockets also are in a great position. Overall can't really find any issues. This BC has been on around 75 dives

I've had 40 dives so far with it and like it a lot. Recently I took a quick Caribbean trip, and traveled very light so decided not to bring it with. Of course, the first rental BC I used leaked in two places... Lesson learned: bring my own.

Absolutely love this BCD!!! First Dive out with it was off of Key Largo for a Shark Dive. Lightweight and offers additional freedom of movement with no cummerbund or side bladders. I highly recommend it!! Go Mares!!

Fantastic BCD. Great value. This BC is lightweight and folds. Yet it has all features you need and high quality. Two trips so far and no problems at all

I have 2 of these BCs that I use for training my larger students and they work great. Very happy with the purchase. Thx again Leisure Pro!

This BCD is lightweight (7.7lbs at XS), big bang for the buck, feels durable, fits just right, and places the tank a little lower on your body. All told, this would have been a great BCD if I didn't already have one. The MRS seems very solid, I had to tug pretty hard to remove them. I'm not sure they're sliding out on people. The freedom of movement is pretty good, it'd just be nice if the weight pockets didn't jut out so much. I was looking for a really compact travel BCD, as most of my dives are overseas. Unfortunately, the folding design didn't allow this to compact smaller than my current older jacket-style BCD.

I love this bcd!! I have over 120 dives on it from North and Central Florida springs, Key Largo's reefs, to Panama City Beach wrecks. This bcd performs flawlessly. I have made a few adjustments to the bungee for the bladder but that's about it, no damage or problems so far.

Purchased these for myself, my wife and daughter last March 2016. We do warm water diving and have had more than 20 dives with it. Great all around BC - great fit, stable underwater and on the surface. Starting to customize it by taking away MRS and attaching aftermarket D-rings. Works great in either set-up. Recommended not just as your travel BC, but as your primary one!

Good designed, minimalist, mine with good quality materials, size M and good for my 200 pounds weight. The system in the back to Not feeling the tank is very good, is really comfortable, the tank seems to float behind you. For the last star, my only complaint is that some of the material take some hours to dry and wet it weight something.

I have just finished my first dive trip with this BC and am really satisfied with its performance on the first dozen dives I used it on. I chose this BC as it has ample lift capacity for all conditions I would ever dive in, but can still be made compact to take up less space for travel. I do like full jacket style BCs (unlike this BC), but this was a good compromise for performance and size. I didn't experience any issues with the back mount bladder forcing me into uncomfortable positions or throwing off balance as some others have noted. I guess that may depend on how close to neutrally buoyant you start out at and how much air you need to put it in at depth. Positive: * Weight and size (foldable) is good for travel * Good quality materials (everything still like new after a dozen dives) * Comfortable in/out of water * Integrated weight and trim pockets worked well for me * Rollup pocket provides good space Negative: * Cord for upper purge valve rubs against my shirt/wetsuit - wish it was in channel or guides to stay on BC material * Did not like the weight belt like buckle it came with - I replaced with normal BC buckle and cut belt down and I like it * Pocket is hard to zip close without using 2 hands as the top of pocket material pulls forward - I put in a faster to hold top of pocket in place which works well

I purchased this BCD after my Open Water class I have about 25 Dives on it now. Being a back inflate it does have a tendency to kick you forward if you over inflate it on the surface. Once you learn not to over inflate and keep your legs in front of you it's just fine. I immediately replaced the power inflator with an atomic ss1 so I cannot say how well it works. My wife used it to get her Open Water cert and immediately fell in love with it and we bought her one too. It folds up real nice and fits in a suitcase just great. It is lightweight and doesn't add much to the bag.

It's very freeing around the body so if you hate the compression of a jacket BC, this is for you. Plenty of lift for me from the XS/S (I'm 5'10", 148lbs with a 31inch waist).

This BCD is good example of underrated product. I've just made first 10 dives using this BCD in warm water. It is very easy to use, very easy to balance and comfortable to wear. After folding I packed this BCD, regulators, mask, snorkel and boots to the plane on board case.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars would have to be the lack of pockets. Other wise I love it! It is so comfortable and fits perfect. Can't wait to dive many a dive in this one!

I am disappointed with the workmanship of the BCD, the zipper was torn the minute I try to unzip the pouch. I wonder if this is the reason why it is on sale.

I love this BCD - I did not want anything bulky and this is perfect - I actually took off the integrated weight pockets and use weight belt. It is also very comfortable and light. It folds up nicely - perfect for traveling.

I chose this BC for it's light weight, being foldable and the very attractive price. Before actually trying this in water, I afraid the Back inflation system would keep my face down when I ascend to the surface; yet this is not a problem at all as I can easily pose myself in the face-up position. (Though, I tried relaxing my whole body when surfaced on the water, it DOES keep my face down the water. However , as stated in the manuel, it is not a life jacket!) Another concern was it has got only 150N uplifting force, compared with other jacket-type BC got around 200N, it seems a bit less. However it is totally sufficient for me to float ! BTW, this BC is not using Qucik-release buckle as usual BCs, the main strip around your waist is using a plastic "weight-belt-like" clamp for adjustment and fixation!!

Comfortable and made well

It's very freeing around the body so if you hate the compression of a jacket BC, this is for you. Plenty of lift for me from the XS/S (I'm 5'10", 148lbs with a 31inch waist).
More simplicity for a back mounted BCD, and thanks to its extremely low weight and foldable backpack, it becomes the ideal companion for your travels. Weighing only 7 lbs. (3.2 kg), streamlined yet complete the Hybrid Pure surprises with its modularity and unique comfort, with its lumbar suspension system. The suspension system is inspired by the design of modern hiking backpacks; the system avoids direct-contact between the body and the tank support providing exceptional comfort. The construction of the air cell delivers extreme freedom of movement and makes it easier to achieve perfect buoyancy.
The Hybrid Pure is equipped with Mares MRS-Plus 13 lbs. (6 kg) Mechanical Release System in Medium, Large and X-Large and 8.82 lbs. (4 kg) in X-Small and Small. A simple click ensures easy and secure storage of the weight pockets. A single outward pull on the oversized handle releases the weights. If you don't need to use the maximum weight load each pocket has Velcro dividers to eliminate weight shifting adding stability to your dive.
Comfort is important, but durability means years of maintenance free use. The air cell of the BCD is made from durable 420 Cordura Denier Nylon with strong polyurethane inside. BCD is equipped with a folding zippered cargo pocket, 2-aluminum and 5-heavy-duty techno polymer D-rings for accessory storage and attachment. Padded shoulder straps, adjustable multi-point chest strap and a waist strap are all equipped with squeeze-style" side quick-release buckles that provide a custom fit and ease of donning and doffing.
Buoyancy control is established with the Ergo Inflator and two rear flat valve quick-dump/over-pressure relief valves. The Ergo is the standard inflation/deflation control unit on Mares BCD's, the Ergo inflator has been designed according to ergonomic guidelines. Intuitive to use and offers maximum grip, the new flat valves geometry and design has reduced the size of the valves to a mere 0.86" (22mm) of height 30% less than past valves. The Hybrid Pure BCD provides 33.7 lbs. (15.3 kg) of lift in all sizes. BCD comes with a low-pressure hose with 3/8" thread and quick-disconnect coupling.
