The Epic Adj 82X scuba diving regulator features a first stage with an always dry, rotating turret and a state-of-the-art second stage with the Twin Power system.

The first stage of the Epic 82X has a 360° rotating turret and is a balanced membrane first stage. It has five 3/8" threaded low-pressure (LP) ports with 4 on a rotating turret for excellent hose routing and a fixed fifth on the end of the turret. Two opposing 7/16" threaded high-pressure (HP) ports allow mounting of a hose-less air integrated computer transmitter and a backup submersible pressure gauge (SPG).

The second stage is equipped with a VAD system that exploits the Venturi effect by conveying 90% of the air into a side bypass. The second stage also has a Twin Power system that allows you to control the airflow of the VAD system, ensuring natural breathing at any depth.

The air bypass tube delivers air to the mouthpiece creating a swirling vortex with a low pressure area in the center that keeps the diaphragm down during inhalation, for very sensitive and easy breathing at all depths.
TWIN POWER
New, flow control manages the delivery rate of your gas, from natural breathing to power breathing. The former is the traditional way of breathing a Mares regulator, (VAD) while the latter (VAD+) provides an extra push when you need it.

The Mares Epic ADJ 82X is the new top of the line breathing system, combining the traditional advantages of Mares regulators with latest generation technological innovations in an exclusive design. Epic ADJ 82X marks the new benchmark product for people who want a high-performance regulator. As a result of Mares extensive expertise, they've produced the Epic ADJ 82x first stage with a 360 Degree swivel turret and a unique design for the HP Ports (OPD) allowing you to orient the high-pressure hose and/or computer transmitter to your preference, regardless of the first stage position. This offers you total control of your equipment configuration.

The 82X is a balanced diaphragm first-stage, which guarantees reliable, consistent, elite performance at any depth or air pressure supply. The PVD coated marine brass first stage regulators balanced diaphragm design is inherently environmentally sealed. The diaphragm membrane transmits the pressure changes to the internal mechanism eliminating the need for the surrounding water to enter the intricate mechanism. The benefit of this type of first stage design is that none of the internal parts are exposed to contaminants such as salt, sand, chlorine or pool acids. These environmental contaminants cause corrosion and mineral deposits to form on the internal mechanism deteriorating regulator performance. The first stage also includes the all-new AST anti-flooding system (Auto-Sealing Technology) which safeguards against water intrusion into the first stage, maintaining a dry first stage under all conditions. The flow of gas from the tank activates the AST system automatically without relying on a mechanical solution, ensuring maximum reliability.

The Mares Epic 82X uses tri-material valve technology. This patented technology created to optimize performance, safety and reliability. The valve is covered with a hard polyurethane (PU) and the sealing surface is a layered with a soft PU for a perfect seal. Tri-material (brass, soft PU and heavy-duty" PU) reaches new levels of durability. But the benefits don't stop there.

Epic ADJ 82X also incorporates full pneumatic balancing in the metal PVD coated second stage, as well as a large pivoting purge button for fast, intuitive use. Combined with the VAD Twin Power system, which allows the diver to control air flow in response to their breathing demands, the Epic ADJ 82X ensures the very best performance even in the most extreme conditions. The Mares Epic ADJ 82X with its vortex assist design (V.A.D.) system: all Mares second stages offer the unique patented VAD system. Superflex hose is 3/8" threaded high flow hose and is 29.5" (75cm) in length. The regulators total weight with hose is 44.27 oz (1,255g) with hose. Regulator is Nitrox ready up to 40% oxygen out-of-the-box.
