This is a very compact reel. The line is only 50 feet in length but for me that is plenty. I use it for scuba and free-diving. For scuba it is sufficiently small to fit in my BC pocket. For free-diving I attach it to my dive float anchor. I rarely free-dive deeper than 30 feet. Operation is simple and reliable.

Using this reel with my SMB. Perfect choice for that use. Much better than a finger spool.

The reel works, but I don't care for the screw stop at all. I also found it to be a bit bulky compared to a regular finger reel given the arm that sticks out on the side. I bought it because I wanted to try out the handle...but tossed it in the spare gear box after the first dive. Firstly...it's bulky for what it is (15.2m reel). Secondly...you really SHOULD be carrying a reel that has a length to reach your max depth. I'd give this reel a pass and just pick up a regular finger reel.

I use this reel with Surface Marker Buoy during the deco time at 5-10 meters. It is lightweight, small and functional, the yellow line is great.

In the early days of cave diving, reels were not available to buy off the shelf. Divers used anything they could, including empty electrical wire spools. When exploring, divers would pay out the line and if they didn't empty the spool it would be left in the cave for the next dive. The Nano Reel is the ideal jump reel for cave divers looking for durability and quality. The spool is constructed out of UMHW and the frame is made from black anodized aluminum. Reel handle and spool are connected to the frame with stainless-steel hardware. For attachment to gear the reel comes with a double ended stainless-steel spring-loaded gate clip. The Nano reel comes with 50' (15.2m) of yellow #24 nylon line. The reel has a spool O.D. of 3" (7.6cm) with an I.D. of 1" (2.5cm). The #24 braided nylon line has a diameter .073" (1.86mm) and a tensile strength of 230 lbs. (105 kg). Reel is made in the USA.
