KARYN K : If I have the size 10 wetsuit should I order the size 10 vest?STEPHEN B : Yes. I always get the same size as the lacacore jumpsuit, it works for entire family for the entire familyTRACY K : I would call LeisurePro and see if they have a suggestion. I find there is little consistency in wet suit sizing. I bought mine large to wear over my suit because there was no way I was fitting anything under it. If you definitely want to wear under you could start with the 10, or order a couple sizes and return the one you don't want.PATRICIA J : I would go by the sizing chart that Henderson has for Lavacore. Shopper : Hi, I need this for swimming in a chilly pool, but I'm not sure what size to get. My measurements don't go with the size chart. Weight 127 lb., height 5'4", bust 36, waist 36, hips 44. Is the bust molded like sharkskins or is it more like a tank top design? Should I go with measurements for waist or hips? Don't like tight clothes, but understand it can't be too loose to do its job and keep me warm. Will probably wear it under a finis thermal swim shirt. This is a good choice to keep me warm while doing laps, right? ThanksMICHELE B : Hello..second try here! The vest has a higher neck..not like a tank top. The bust is molded but softly molded..not molded very much. very comfortable..don't know what sharkskins are. The vest is not very long..so I would go with the waist measurement unless you are very high waisted..you might want to consider that the hips could cause the bottom of a longer vest to ride up. I thought the vest ran small.. I i wear a 10-12 and ordered an xl. It seemed small. Yes ..you want it be quite snug (fitted). I use vests for scuba diving under my wetsuit. It really helps. You won't notice the snugness when wet. The one thing I did not like it that the neck was a bit gappy. Maybe it was the particular one I got..or my posture..not sure. However, I have found it to be effective extra thermal barrier and they tend to come through a bit larger than advertised. They do stretch so body shape can be accommodated. It shouldn't be used as a flotation device.Steve S : No this will not help with flotation. Lavacore is made to be neutrally buoyant. For flotation you will want something that is positively buoyant. You can use a 3mm wetsuit vest which would be positively buoyant.KIM B : It seems like it slightly improves your buoyancy. It does help to keep you warm.CARLETON L : My whole family uses lavacore either alone or under a 3mm shorty for most warm water diving. It allows us to shave a mm or two off of the suits we'd normally have to wear. Because the product is neutral buoyancy it means for a given level of warmth we have less flotation in the suit to offset with weight and less depth compression to deal with. Excellent snug fit

Excellent snug fit. It is a little hard to get on and off, but once it is on, the fit is good. The fleece inside is warm and cozy. I can't wait to use it inside my wetsuit for scuba diving.

Wore my new LavaCore dive vest for some recent deeper dives. Being a vest style, it was fairly easy to put on. It fit just fine under my 5-mil wetsuit without bunching or adding bulkiness. During the dive, I could tell a nice difference in warmth as the vest helped keep my core warmed. I had made 10 dives in the 3 days prior to this, so had a basis for comparison to tell that the vest was doing its job. Also, during the surface interval and on the 45-minute trip back to the dock, the vest kept me warmer. Especially for quick, easy-to-put-on core warmth, this LavaCore vest was a great option.

Terrific warm layer

Fit was a bit tricky. The size page link was rather incorrect. The manufacturer size page is accurate. Best to check that before ordering. The vest fit well, doesn’t add bulk, just a nice warming layer. I dived into temps at depth of 75 and this layer was just the addition I needed.

Nice, but did not work for me

I purchased this to swim laps in cold water. The material felt great and soft on the inside of the vest when I put it on. The problem was the top part of the vest around the neck and arms pits did not fit me well depending on how I moved. When swimming laps, it would come away from the skin and allowed water in which produced drag. For my body type, it did not work as I needed it to. I wished it did as it felt great compared to a normal wetsuit material. The lower half of the vest fit great. I gave it a 3 star due to being to loose around the neck and arm pit area. I returned it and the return process at Leisure Pro was great and quick. I would purchase again from Leisure Pro.

Great product, but check sizing.

I ordered a size "10" due to my weight and measurements and the product came in US size 6. I found it small but not too small. It might have been better as a US 8. Wore it under a 3mm wet suit and was very comfortable in 85F water.

doesn't fit well over my older ecto-mesomorp body--too tight in waist (hard to get on and off) and a little loose in chest but shoulders ok; i'm having a zipper put in on the front to make things easier

Great Water Sports Vest

This is a great vest for any water sport activity. My daughter uses it as added warmth when doing warm water dives. She has also used it as an undergarment with dry/wetsuits when doing cold water dives. Very stylish vest.

Great Vest!

This is a great vest if you are performing any water sports in 70 degree or warmer water. Otherwise it is the perfect device to use as a warmer undergarment with your dry/wetsuit. I used it several times in February and March this year as an undergarment to my Aqualung, 8MM, one piece Semidry suit, to dive in 45F – 46F degree water and my body was nice and warm during the entire time I was underwater. I plan to use it again over my skin suit next month in the Caribbean for added protection in 90+ feet dives. I found the waist elastic cord to get in my way more often than I was getting to require it, so I simply removed it. Other than that, this is a very nice, warm, comfortable vest that not only keeps you comfy, but in style as well. If you are like me that doesn't like to expose unnecessary skin, this is the perfect device to wear.

keeps you warm!

I wore this vest under a 3 ml Henderson wetsuit (with a hood and gloves) in water of 72 degrees. I felt a little cold at first but then was fine for the rest of the dives. The vest really helped! It is fleece lined and wouldn't fit comfortably under my 5 ml wetsuit since that wetsuit is very tight but worked out very well under my 3 ml! I am really happy with it!

Good insulation

Use under a 3mm wetsuit. Definitely warmer. Neutral buoyancy a plus. I get cold easy and this is much better than getting a thicker wetsuit. Will buy more items from Lavacore. Not cheap, but worth the money.

Fantastic Vest. I love it.

I have recently began playing water volleyball. I needed something to keep me warm on those cool winter days. Another thing is the fit. For a 3X (280 lbs.) It fits beautifully. A half zipper from either armpit would help taking it off.

WOW what a difference

I tried this out under my wetsuit for the first time this weekend and what a difference it made. My chest and back stayed comfortably warm in 55F water for 2 hours. I will use it all through the winter. I plan to try a full suit to go under my regular wetsuit.I love the fact that it is a long vest. I was able to tuck it into my shorts to prevent it from riding up when I pulled up my wetsuit. It does seem like it will take a while to dry out after washing but no big deal.

Great stuff

It feels like at least 3mm added to your wetsuit but it doesn't affect your buoyancy. Really neat stuff. It takes a bit longer to dry than I expected, but still within reasonable time.
