Kraken Zoomable 1800 Lumens Dive Light

My Seac R-15 died and I decided to give this one a shot. It is brighter, according to the numbers anyway I have not had it in the water yet. It maybe too bright in fact for night diving, I wish the brightness worked like the R-15 where you held the button and it slowly dimmed until it was where you wanted it. This has 3 settings and cycles down to 450 Lumens which for a night dive maybe too much. The Zoom seems to work well, starts out with a small square and zooms out to a nice video light size. There is some spill when zoomed in but not much. Seac new I50 would have been my choice except it defiantly would be too bright for night diving with only two power settings. The one very big thing I dislike about this light and the reason for the 3 stars is its made in China. Also it needs to be opened up to recharge the battery. This was pretty much the exact design I was looking for, having a zoom lens and adjustable power settings within the light range I wanted or I would have purchased a product made anywhere else. I do not expect this light to last for years, neither does the manufacturer with their short warranty so hopefully In a few years when it fails someone else will have a comparable product.
