J.W. Fisher Pinger Receiver see SKU: JWFPR
J.W. Fishers acoustic pinger's make it quick and easy to relocate an underwater site or piece of equipment. The pinger is attached to an underwater location where it continuously transmits a sonar signal. A diver equipped with a pinger receiver can detect the acoustic signal and follow it directly to the pinger. Pingers are available with different transmit frequencies so several can be deployed in the same general area without interfering with each other. The diver sets the pinger receiver to the desired frequency and is guided directly to the pinger.
The MFP-1 has user selectable frequencies from 20 to 50 kHz in 500 Hz increments. The operator selects one of 60 different frequencies before deploying the pinger. The pinger can be automatically activated when put in the water or manually activated with a switch. Many MFP-1 pinger's can be deployed in the same general area, each transmitting a different frequency. A diver using the pinger receiver can pinpoint the exact location of each pinger without interference from the others. The MFP-1 has an operational depth of 1,000' (305 meters).
With Fishers pinger's the operator can select the number of pulses per second, the length of each pulse, and the output power. The length of each pulse and output power adjustments allow the operator to control the distance the Pingers can be detected. With the MFP-1 the transmission frequency can be selected by the operator before deployment. These features make the MFP-1 extremely versatile and the first choice for almost any relocation operation.
Power for the pinger's is supplied by two standard alkaline 9-volt batteries which last from a few days to many months, depending on output power and pulse selection. For long durations lithium batteries can be used. Optional larger housings (more batteries) are available which significantly extend the operating time. Longer housings are also available which greatly increase the operating time. The Extended Operation Housing holds six batteries to give 3 times the normal operating time. The Very Long Duration Housing holds twelve "D" size batteries and gives 12 times the normal operating time. For Pinger Receiver see SKU: JWFPR. Pinger comes with an owner's manual.
