Shopper : how do i know which size to use/buy?LYLE R : I like this spear tip on the 30 in lionfish polespear.Also I like it better than the 6 prong tip that comes with the shorter spear.The 6 prong tip seems too aggressive.JAMES S : A 4d20 explorer 20 spear gun takes a 724s shaft which are 5/16 of an inch or 8mm. The explorer is the only one I use. It is quick to aim and shoot and packs a powerful punch, with a range of 12 feet you could not ask for anything more!!! And the trident tip is grate it's my choice, I use them on my gun no complaints!! I don't know what kind of gun you have but, just check the thread size on the end of the shaft to be sure!!!! HOPE THIS HELP'SKENDRA S : Do you know what size spear shaft you have? If you do not, you can look up your spear gun (brand and model) to find out what spear it uses and from there, you can tell what mm spear tip you want.LYLE R : It depends on what you are hunting.I use this size for lionfish with the yellow fibreglass pole spears{20 in}.I just recently bought 28 in spears & will use the same tip& the smaller ones that used to come with the 20 in spear but am not impressed with the new tip for the 20 incher-too many barbs.stay away from the ELF tips,they fall apart as they are epoxied together instead of soldered.MIYUKI S : You need to know the size threading on the shaft you use.
Shopper : How long and wide is this?MATTHEW F : about 2" wide by 4" long good for small fish and frogs.ANDREW P : Hi, each trident prong is about 2-2.5 inches long, but I've had some trouble with it. It tends to spiral when it leaves the gun, and not on-axis in a good way, but more like a curveball to the right. If you're looking at something like this, the flat trident works well in murkey conditions at close ranges.BRIAN R : I don't have it here it is in my boat 6 hrs away but it is approximately 4" long and 2" wide.
