MICHAEL S : Does this point come with a sheath to protect the point when traveling? Also does it come with a "choke"?Sam S : It comes with a tip protector that also pulls the three tines tight together. It does not come with a choke.MIKE E : It comes with a sheath, but not a choke. However, I would recommend buying somewhere else. LeisurePro (LP) does not stand behind their products if there’s a problem. I purchased a high end dive computer that was defective. LP denied the warranty saying I caused the damage. After over a year of arguing with them, LP then said they did in fact return the computer to the manufacturer who also denied the warranty and simply washed their hands of the situation. I contacted the manufacturer direct, who had no record of the computer being sent to them for inspection, and LP could not provide any of the return documents the manufacturer said all returns receive. I then returned it directly to the manufacturer who replaced it immediately as defective.MICHAEL K : No choke...I use a couple of “O” rings. Yes...protective rubber tip comes with.DAVID M : yes a small rubber/plastic cap and thread plug is included. not sure what you mean by a choke(?)JAMES C : There is no sheath, but it does come with a plastic tip protector that covers just over the barbed portion of the tip. I am not sure what you mean by choke, but there are no adapters. Make sure to check your threads on the pole spear for the correct size. Depending on your spear, you may need an adapter. I have the JBL 3' pole spear and it threads on great.
STACEY A : I just bought the Cressi-Sub SL Star 40 with a 8mm shaft. I measured the threaded end for the spearhead and go 6.68mm so which size should I get? Thanks, CharlieKYLE B : Get the 6mm. I am pretty sure that's what my pole measures too. Leisure Pro also has a great return policy, just in case.

Shopper : Will this work for a JBL Carbine spear gun? Also, is it the female end?GARY L : Yeap, its the female end. It will fit on your JBL shaft if they're the same diameter. However it might reduce the accuracy of longer shots but should be fine for point blank head shots.GIACOMO B : This paralyzer tip has a female end. It is barbed and sharp, so it is very effective on a spearpole. That said, it also has a lot of drag, so the reason why it works well with a JBL spearpole, especially when filled with water, is that the pole has a lot of momentum. In general spears from guns have little momentum, some more than others obviously. So without knowing your specific spear I can't be completely positive, but my guess is that this tip has too much drag for a gun. Guns work with speed, so anything that brings in drag is not preferred.CORY U : sorry dont know they sent me the wrong size. it has a female end.VICTORIA R : I purchased this for my son in law as a recomendation from my daughter. Aside from the above shortcoming, this appears to be a well made spear tip.

My only issue is the length of the threaded attachment end. I am only able to tighten the threads into the spear shaft about 3/4 of a turn, leaving me to believe the tip could easily detach and be lost.

Does the job most of the time

The spear tip is pretty effective in getting through the fish and doing fatal damage, but the barbs are almost nonexistent so an upset fish can easily shake it's way off the end. There are other 3-point spear tips with better barbs, but they generally are designed so they do not penetrate as far. I guess its a trade-off.

Awesome tip!

I use this in Lake michigan to pole spear carp. It works great but it dulls pretty quickly. Still an awesome tip and not hard to use even when it dulls a little

A Lion Fish worst nightmare

I bought this tip to use with my JBL 21 explorer spear gun. I use this set up exclusively for killing lion fish in the Caribbean. It works great, especially if you plan on eating them as I do. I say this because the tips do not damage the meat as some of the larger single tips would and its easier to get them off the spear and into the bag with out getting stung. I was Amazed at how well the tips stay sharp, being that most shots on lion fish your gonna hit reef. I don't know what the other reviewer is talking about dulling the tips only after a few uses..? this is Not So! I've been using mine for over a year and its still as sharp as the first day I used it. My set up was so nice & effective that my dive master requested the same set up for herself, and she's been spearfishing for over 30 years. I've slayed close to 100 lion fish in 1 years time...you can't miss with this tip and should the LF slide off after the hit{it does happen,but not often}, its comforting to know he's now food for the other native species on the reef. I can't recommend this tip enough! buy 1 and see

good product but has some flaws. first off the tips dull really easily. after 2 days usage and countless shots the tips on this thing were shot. it is inevitable not to hit rocks with this thing when shooting in and around reefs. would recommend a cressi spear tip instead. the barbs aren't too functional either. if you don't get at least 2 of the spears in the fish forget it, it'll slide right off the spear and you can watch it swim away.
