I bought 3 of these and am sorry I did. I used one of them and on the first 2 tank dive I could already see rust forming on it....I rinsed in fresh water and dried after each used but the rust continues to get worse...how long can I use it before I have to worry about the rust contaminating my fish? I thought hardened was a good idea and made by JBL...would be a good product...stay away....buy stainless.

I use this to kill lawn critters digging into the lawn. Works nicely without the barbs, since the barbs would pull up grass roots.

I got this as a replacement for one that was lost. This is NOT rust resistant. After one day of diving (and yes rinse in fresh water), this was covered with rust. Even after cleaning and wiping with silicone repeatedly, the rust comes through....good way to ruin your gear.

I found this spear point easy to use and great for the fishing I do. It holds the catch well.

Hi had on for the last 20 years. Due to the repetitiv sharpning its tim to guet a new on. Nothing is compare to JBL product. You dont need barbs. The spring action of the paralyser talk buy it self it paralyse the fish. The barbs destroy the flesh of your fish. Practicing is the key of a succes under water hunt. Enjoy this item and keep practicing.

This is a great spear tip. People complain about no barbs but on this tip, but you should be pining the spear to a rock or sand and the grabbing the fish, no fish should get off of this tip because of equipment, only due to user error. This is an affordable great spear tip. If i was a beginner spear fishermen id go for the barbs

I had pole spear that came with this tip. Whenever I shot a fish, the fish would pull off the tines. If you like this style of tip, get the one with barbs to hold the fish. From my standpoint, a regular single spearpoint with folding wings works very well on a pole spear.

Constructed of rugged hardened steel, JBL's fixed Spear points are a perfect blend of durability and performance. Each point is designed for low maintenance, dependability and most important results. Paralyzers stop reef fish dead in their tracks on your pole spear. Whatever points you choose if it's from JBL you know you're getting your money's worth. Paralyzer Tip is economic spear point with hardened steel tines, gold anodized base and paralyzing action for better holding power. Tip is used in rocks and reefs primarily on pole spears, for medium to small fish and comes in both 6 and 7mm thread. Spear point is optional tip for JBL one piece pole spears.
