Gary I : will this extension work with the 5' pole spear or just the break down spears?Sam S : It is not compatible as JBL single piece polespears do not have threading for additional sections.
Shopper : What are the thread diameters on this product?Steve S : This will only work on JBL travel pole spears. This is an extension piece. It is not a piece to use for spearing alone.ANTHONY W : I bought this item awhile ago and used it as an extension to the JBL travel pole spear - it fits -- I don't know enough about how to measure threads to risk describing because even if I am accurate to say it is roughly and about 5/8 outside diameter, there are a million different thread coarseness and depth (and these threads are kind of shallow) you would have hard time matching it to a different product. Are you trying to fit it into something other than a JBL pole spear? jbl travel spears

I bought this item to extend the reach of my 6 ft. travel spear and it works fine. it keeps me a little further away from my target and this increases my chances for a better lunch or diner.

Need to make your JBL Travel Pole Spear (see SKU's: JBL2D72 and JBL2D80) longer than you need this extension. Like the shaft of your pole spear this extension is made from 6063, annealed aluminum and is hard gold anodized for extra rigidity. The end result: maximum energy transfer with virtually no flex. JBL machine-swage each spear section for enhanced hydrodynamics. This provides greater speed with minimal water disruption.

Extension feature precision machined stainless steel threaded unions for seamless fit and feel and allow for infinite extendibility. These tempered extensions allow you to extend your travel pole spear to whatever length you wish. They come in a 24" (61 cm) length. So if you need a longer Pole Spear this extension is what you're looking for and will do the trick.
