I followed the directions. Prepared three spots in the hull of our 44' Carver and tested them, they all checked good. Ran the wire to the fly bridge, used all of it. Placed the transducer under starboard engine with epoxy ordered with the unit and let it cure for a day. Ran the boat over a 22 mile trip comparing depth readings with Garmin Active Captain chart data that varied from 14' to 70' and they matched.??

After initial problems with the product, during which Norcross customer support (specifically Jacob) were superbly patient (I probably caused the "fault") and constant, determined help, supplying a replacement display unit even before I returned the old one. There is no doubt in my mind that Norcross support is one of the very best supporters in business; maybe THE best.

Why did I wait so long to replace my depth finder? This thing is great. Easy to install, easy to setup, and works amazing. I'm already planning on buying one for my next boat. My only suggestion would be to add a mute button to the alarm. It is loud, which is great when you need it, but is rather annoying when you launching, retrieving, or beaching the boat somewhere.

I had a Hawkeye from 2004 that worked only very rarely, probably because I had bedded it in silicone caulk inside the hull. This time around Hawkeye included a small amount of two part slow cure epoxy. Wow, what a difference, it reads well everywhere in the muddy silted in Chesapeake. Here's to better gunkholing :)/

Installed this Thru-the-Hull depth finder as described in the installation manual. Be sure to use their 2part slow cure epoxy and apply to both sensor and boat bottom. Cure takes 24hrs so tape down to hull with duct tape while curing. The rest of the install was a breeze and it worked really well.

Product Support is EXCELLENT! After my 3-decade old depth finder display died, I contacted NorCross Marine support asking if the DepthTrax 2B would work with my existing transducer (it Does!!). The Support team responded Super Quick and provided all the info I needed regarding product and purchase options as well as installation support. I am very happy with the product purchase and even more impressed by the level of service I received. 5 Stars!

Replaced a faulty D11S Micro Depthfinder, and this ine, while having a much larger footprint works so much better. I wish it had an on/off switch for use on my Waverunner. The display is big and very legible and it only occasionally loses the depth reading.

So far I could not get it to work. I will try to relocate it and attach with different material. But to me I mounted it as directions called for and it powers up but will not beep or show a reading. So at this point very disappointed with it. In a couple weeks from now when it get out on a lake again I will try hanging outside the boat like the directions say but that is very hard once you have the dash together and it is installed on this onboard boat. There is enough cable for this but just annoys me. As my hull is solid fiberglass no foam to block the sonar. Again it maybe faulty but I ordered it a few months ago when working on the dash putting gauges in the boat and all the other gauges I installed work great. So at this point I am not happy as useless if not reading the depth.

Installation of dash unit was super easy (though the previous dash hole was a bit smaller than the unit face). Very easy to set K/O, shallow water and deep water alarms.
