The product photo is _highly_ misleading. It shows a very ergonomic and durable multi-panel construction on the hood. What I received is a two-piece with a seam down the middle. The "bib" bunches up on the shoulders and will have difficulty staying tucked in. The material seems durable, it is nylon not polyester like most rash guard. It does fit me fine, but I do have a large head. It will do exactly what I bought it for, which is sun protection while snorkeling and freediving, so it gets credit for that at least. I'm just really disappointed with the build quality. I don't want a neoprene hood and high-quality lycra/rash guard hoods seem strangely elusive. I thought this was going to be the one, but it is nothing special. Only marginally better than the neck gator I've been using.

Perfect for Caribbean diving. Recently I had to have a skin cancer removed from my forehead just below the hairline. Exactly the exposed area above my mask. This will help to prevent that from happening again!

Me and wife both purchased one of these for warm water side mount diving to prevent chaffing from our over the neck miflex hoses. They worked great and highly recommend as there aren't many options for warm water rash guards/hoods on the market.

Trim the neck flange. Zero thermal I use it for black water. Keeps bugs out of ears.

It fit good and had lots of stretch. It kept by bald head and neck from getting burned while snorkeling and bone fishing in the hot Hawaiian sun. It is very breathable so I did not get too hot.

I have been using the lycra hood for several years. I dive exclusively in South Florida and deal with skin cancer concerns. This recent purchase was to replace a previous hood that was beginning to show signs of wearing thin. I am not a fan of using sun screens and find this product to provide the protection I need.

I don not know of a better quality hood. I use the hood in Asia PAc ( warm temps). Durability, construction, fit/form,. suitability of purpose - all 5 star. STRONG CONFIDENT BUY. Be sure to measure your skull to select suiatble size. EM / PADI 384938

Hood quality seems fine, but one size means it feels loose, unless you have massive head. Material is smooth and caused mask band to slide up and almost off on back roll into water. Also, when diving on SCUBA face down, air bubble entered sides of mask, going loudly past ears, and into top of hood. This created air pocket and affected buoyancy. Kept having to reach up and manually force air out. Annoying, would not use again for SCUBA dive.

It’s basically for snorkeling. If you’re using scuba it will trap air, very uncomfortable. But great to protect you from the sun in the surface.

I've used quite a few lycra hoods, and this is the only one I'll use. Very comfortable and has a great bib that will fit nicely under a rash guard, wetsuit or lycra body suit.

This is a really nice, well made lycra hood, that is easy to don/doff and very comfortable. I use it primarily to keep the sun off my head and neck when at the surface or snorkeling. It is not advertised as a thermo device, but I do think my head stays warmer while wearing the hood than without it.

This hood protected my head, neck and part of my face from the sun when I went snorkeling in the Caribbean. It fit well and is very lightweight. I didn't get as much sun damage as the last time I went snorkeling without it.

Have used this extensively to keep my long hair from blocking my view and maintaining a good seal on my mask without hairs getting trapped between. It does puff up with air on exhalation which widens the opening, allowing hair to escape so will be placing a few holes at the top to fix that, thanks to the advice I found here. Everywhere I go, divers ask about my hood and want one. :-)

I wanted protection from stinging organisms floating in the water column during warm water dives. I didn't get it for warmth. Other Lycra hoods rode up on me in the front, there wasn't enough material to stay in the neck of my wetsuit, so it would ride up and the flap would come out as the dive progressed (even when I got the largest sized hood). This one has more material so it stays tucked in my wetsuit collar. It is large, and it might be too large for smaller people since it's "one-size fits all". It also can puff up more with trapped air from exhalations, but you can put a slight hole in the top to remedy that. It seems like it is well made and should last. It's about $5 more than my other Lycra hood, which my wife now uses, but you get more material, it seems thicker, and it works better for what I wanted. I guess I liked it enough over the other hood because I bought a second hood after using it on a few dive trips (so I would have a spare in case of loss or damage).

I use this hood for warm water diving to keep my hair out of the way and protect me from the elements. It is a great hood. I only wish it came in different sizes. You can only buy "one size fits all" which means that it is quite large and moves around on the smaller heads (like mine). Because it is so large it also fills up with air sometimes. I solved this problem by cutting two little holes in the top of it. I wouldn't want to dive without some sort of protection and it is the best thing I have found so far, however, I'll keep my eyes out for a smaller one.
