M W : In the picture it appears that it is a velcro quick attach but someone state that it must be threaded through a tank strap. Please tell me which is true?darrick c : Hello Mary, yes this is Velcro, but you would still need to attach it to the Tank Strap.

If you position it with the zipper facing up, then it's non-ditchable. If you position it with the zipper facing down, then it is ditchable. I have a pair of these and use them as accessory pockets, thus the zipper is facing up on my harness.YAN G : Yes, this is an error on the website. They are non-ditchable. No quick release.RICHARD D : This is not a dump-able a weight. I don't know the thickness, but it is a well built pouch I've been using on the back of my Zeagle tech for a year now.JG S : Fits on 2 in webbing. I placed on tank cam bands to trim but could be used on cummerbund 2 in as well. Very well made, heavy duty. Zippered and clean design. . NOT DITCHABLE unless you mount it w/in reach and unzip (hence position zipper to the down side). So even though you could in theory open the pockets, I cannot recommend as "quick release". Owned many top brands, and Hollis produces solid equipment, as does XS and others.ANDREW B : These are non ditchable. It has a zippered top making it east to load and secure, but there is no easy way to ditch the weight. I am using them for weight trim on my tank band. Not sure about the measurement of thickness. They are adequate. You can also look them up on the hollis website.

Functional, adaptable.

Only has slots for a horizontal web strap. Inconvenient to locate the pouches on shoulder straps. Needs addition of a web slide and a piece of double sided velcro to secure it from sliding.

Good pockets, recommended.

Good weight pockets, hold 5lbs each (10lbs is for the pair) very snugly. I dive in cold water in a drysuit or thick semi-dry so I carry a lot of weight (approx 32-34lbs), I mounted these on the upper tank strap of my backplate setup to put some weight over my shoulders and help balance me out horizontal, also taking some extra weight out of my belt makes it easier to put on.

Well made Hollis pouches for the price of generics

I am very pleased with this purchase. Pouches are well made and for a great price. The Velcro closures on the back make it MUCH easier to add these to your BC than pouches that have to be threaded onto the webbing. Also, labeled as "non dumpable", but they could be mounted upside down and be just as easy to quickly dump as many other "dumpable" weight pouches. I have a set of dumpable XS scuba pouches that operate exactly as these would if you mounted them upside down.

Required to support Hollis Travel BC but lame

The Hollis travel BC is bare bones everything. Light weight for travel, but the wing is small (not much floatation compared to Zeagle's offering in the category) and the pockets are useless - hence the need to purchase additional pockets for weights and gear. Would prefer to have a BC with better storage out of the box as opposed to having to provide it after the fact with these tiny 'workarounds'.

Versatile resource

I've used these pockets on a CCR to dial in weight and trim. Also use them on a standard BC to hold a lift bag in a secure location out of my way. I use another one as a cover for a technical dive computer while in transit so the cover doesn't get scratched. This style of pocket locks the velcro down around any 2" webbing strap (it doesnt have to slide through the end of the strap). That makes it very easy to mount anywhere and move or remove easily in the field. I prefer velcro to plastic buckles underwater, much easier to open/close and no failure points.

Very Useful

I also put them on my weight belt to adjust ballast when, for example, I am using a new undergarment with my drysuit; allows quick and easy change of weight. Similar products seem unnecessarily large and use Velcro closures. I prefer the zipper on these to maintain a compact and secure closure.

Trim is in

As a diver with heavy muscular legs, I often need more trim than ditchable weights. These pockets enable me to effectively position up to 10 additional pounds of trim weights. These are especially useful when diving in thick wetsuits or dry suits both of which require more ballast.
