I always carry two of these. I just bought two new ones...the predecessors ran for 5 years with no problem. I make 100 dives a year and Genesis is my choice!

This is my third Genesis Computer, and my second ReAct. I'm in my eighth decade of age and my fourth of diving. This computer excels on two levels: (1) it is easy to learn, and (2) it is easy to read. At my age, ease of reading is extremely important, especially on a deep dive. On the algorithm level, I find it extremely accurate, certainly on par with any other make and model. If you're looking for bells and whistles, you might want to keep shopping. But if you want a sturdy, reliable, legible dive computer at a reasonable price, I can think of none better.

This is the 3rd one that I have bought. The first 2 are many years old and still working fine. That is why I purchased another one for backup and for my wife. They are easy to use and program. I have replaced batteries with little trouble but you need to be careful. All and all, a great DC that gets the job done.

I did use my Genesis ReactPro for many dives. It would barely download data to my computer, and the software ONLY ran on my very old Windows XP computer! The vendor was zero help and ignored questions. THEN, although it seemed to be matching my lovely new Suunto Cobra, later there was no data in the Genesis; no one works on them, and I don't see why anyone would buy one. I decided I couldn't trust it even as a backup. Hockey puck now.

Leisurepro does it again. This is a very useable small computer, so easy to use, change battery and take on trips all over the world. Thanks again to Leisurepro for the good job in giving good advice on buying this. I have enjoyed using it and would buy it again or recommend it to anyone.

I purchase the Genesis react Pro Dive Computer and analog pressure gauge for my fiance'. She utilized the console for 16 dives in the Bahamas during Christmas week aboard the Aggressor Fleet. Not once did we have a problem with the unit. I like the fact that has a timer that displays the stop time value. The display screen was intuitive and everything seems to be working fine

This computer is very seldom used, you rarely see other divers using one and there's a reason. It is very difficult to reset, i.e. air to ean, and it's flummoxed many diver masters who can't help me with it. And it's just starting logging dives, date/time only, with no depth, time etc.

Delivery was prompt. I found it impossible to download data to a PC: the manual and software download instructions conflict and (so far after three weeks of asking) no support is available to sort out the problem. Very frustrating.

I also bought the wrist boot, as I do not use a computer console; I do however have a back up Dive Rite mini-guages for my Mares Avantgarde BCD...Yes, with pneumatic tank adjuster!

Bought this as a way to future proof my purchases. I knew sooner or later I wanted to go wrist hoseless AI computer but am a big fan of backup systems. Bought this to be my first/primary gauge until I can add-on a wrist AI unit and then this one becomes a full featured backup. It has the most features for the money.

I have owned many types of computers, and the genesis resource and react lines are the simplest to use and read with minimal fiddle factor. Other divers and instructors agree. I have one on a boot console, and another as a backup attached to the HP hose. Battery replacement is simple, but does require the tool they send you with the computer, so do not lose it. Nitrox, night diving, simple air diving, are all easy with this computer.

A couple of things to consider before you buy this. I have only used this DC for 12 dives so far, but my wife also has one with the same number of dives. For the typical recreational diver, this is good computer. If you are considering the less expensive model with only one button, you can register on Genesis' web site and download the manuals for both computers and compare features. The main feature that I was looking for was PC download so the Genesis ResourcePro model was not an option. If I had to point out the bad features of this DC, it would be that part of the display (symbols printed on the white ring) are partially hidden by the black rim, buttons, and protective plastic shield. That means that you will not get a clear picture of the N2 loading and the ascent rate when you glance at it. And, if you ever should enter a decompression mode, you will have a hard time seeing the decompression stop depth. That said... after you get used to viewing the display under water, you learn the "position" of the above items. The DC also comes with audio alarms for violations and notices. For example, a single beep will sound when you reach the safety stop depth; however, the sound is so weak that you will not hear this beep. It is faint even if you hold up the DC to your ear. With all the negatives above, here are the positives. The majority of setting, you set up well in advance of your dive. If set correctly, you will not have to change them again. The only thing that I set before each dive was the Nx %, which is one of the first menus you reach. Underwater, the main display that tells you current depth and how much bottom time you have available is clearly displayed (calculated based on N2 loading or O2 saturation). From the main screen, you need to push a button to reach the other screens (such as max depth, temperature, O2 info, etc.). It is simple enough but you need to study the manual to remember what all the information means. If you are considering buying the cable for PC download: Note that a lot of web-posts on the internet suggest there are problems with the communication between PC and DC. I had the same problems and was ready to give up and send the cable back until I figured out to select that you have a "REACTPRO(WHITE)." The other option ("REACTPRO") made more sense to me but I was wrong...I presume that the reference to "WHITE" has to do with the white ring around the display. Once this was done it was easy to download the information to the computer. The software could be better designed but it is adequate. I still like to keep my paper logs handy. If you do not have the cable, you can still access the logs on the DC but only the vital information. All-in-all, this is a good computer for the average diver that do not plan to be a technical diver doing regular decompression dives.

Works perfectly. Bought one for the wife 2 years ago then bought one for me this year. Easy to use and read and very simple to operate. The React Pro is cheap enough you could buy two to have one as a spare....which i highly recommend.

Easy to read all the important information. Setting the options was not hard if you follow the manual. Variable nitrox settings is a plus.

Works great. I would like a better way to see the current nitrox value but I can deal with it.

Was great for a year, then started malfunctioning. Seems normal on beginning of dive, then screen goes blank. Dive memory dumped when restarted. [...]. Battery changing port is difficult to open and close. If you're taking one of these on a trip, take a backup computer. Not to be relied on.
