Q&A

Questions & Answers

CEYLON L : Will this fit my Spare air cylinder ?DANIE T : no, wrong size.MARK V : No, but there's a simple solution:1. Order this gauge.2. Order an appropriately-sized pony bottle and first stage to go with it.3. Install this gauge on the first stage. You'll be doing yourself a huge favor. I wish somebody told me this when I bought a SpareAir. SpareAir + gauge: $300. Pony + first stage + this gauge: ~$350. Actually having more than like three gulps of air? Priceless.MATTHEW M : not likely - these are meant to screw into the high pressure port of the 1st stage regulator.Steve S : No, this will not work with the spare air. This only works in standard first stages.CLIFF D : No it will not fit a spare air period I went back to the plunger type spare air provided ENRIQUE A : if the regulator port is for a high pressure yes it will, just make sure you have something to compare it like a high pressure hose. get a high pressure hose and try to screw it where you gauge is gonna be and it fits it will fit the gauge. hope this help you dive safe and good luckBILL M : This fits in a standard high pressure port on a regulator first stage. Its small and a bit hard to read. I like a little larger gauge. Do you have space for that?
Shopper : I'm assuming yes but can this be attached to the end of a 6" HP hose, rather directly to the HP port, in order to provide a bit more viewing flexibility? Thanks for the confirmation!DANIE T : yes, as long as the female end is the same as the HP port. It's so tiny though that other gauges might be able to be used the same way. I even mad a single gauge unit by cutting off the top half of an old gauge console, keeping the hose and sanding down the unit until I had a nicely shaped rubber protected gaugeB JANE G : It screws into the first stage. I suppose if you had a female fitting on the end of the hp hose it would work.DON F : I believe so. It fits in a standard HP port so just like a standard gauge on a 6" deco bottle hose you should be able to do the same thing. Only question is why? I would not use for deco purposes only emergency bail out bottle then why 6" hose? Just another thing to get tangled or in the way.BRAD K : Sorry, but I'm not sure. I actually never "got" the gauge when I ordered it. I think I accidentally threw it out with the packing material, this was quite a few years ago...ENRIQUE A : Yes you can that's is exactly how I have it in my guear. But yu have to get a metal file and file the butt of the gauge and the hose so you have a flat surfaces on both sides but you have to tight it hard so wont leak air .Good luck and safe divingGINA S : I've never installed mine on a hose, have mine right on the tank basically so I can check the psi at a glance BEFORE my dive...personally, I don't see a reason why it wouldn't work tho...good idea if u don't use a secondary computer transmitter on your pony tank as I do...DON S : There should not be a problem with doing that.JAMES V : Yes and that is a good idea because it is hard to read most of the timeGARY A : Yes.
Shopper : What is the red dot on the item shown in the picture?EGLADIR X : There is no "red Dot" that I am aware of but the face of the gauge is colored, when the needle is in the green section there is enough air in the tank and if the needle is in the red section the air pressure is low and the tank is nearly empty.B JANE G : I believe that it is a burst valve in the event of over filling but I am not sure. Sorry.DANIE T : A red dot visable on the gauge ia an attchment to the pressure indicating needle. It only appears when the pressure is very lowEGLADIR X : There is no red dot on mine. If you mean on the gauge face then there is a green zone and a red zone to show high and low pressure in the pony tank.KURT W : THE RED ITEM IS THE ARROW THAT INDICATES PRESSUREMIYUKI S : That is an overpressure safety plug. In case of any failure, the excess pressure will be vented through that plug preventing the whole gauge from exploding.
Shopper : I have a poseidon din first stage. Do this or any other gauges fit in that size hp port?DANIE T : I tried the Gennisis and it was too small for my partner to read in the event of a wireless transmitter. It fit the high pressure hose port but I do not know if Posidon has a port different from standard first stage regulators. Leisure pro selles a larger faced gauge but it can be a problem interfering with other hoses. I hope I helped. DanRyan N : Negative. The hp ports on this first stage are smaller.ANDY N : As far as I am aware, yes. An HP port is an HP port and is universal in size where regulator first stages are concerned. I have a ScubaPro and it works fine.MARK O : Yes, this gauge fits any standard size high pressure port.
Shopper : Is this gauge O2 ready?LeisurePro S : This is Nitrox compatible only up to 40%.

Accurate but hard to read

Accurate according to my club's pressure gauge. But incredibly hard to read in the water. I purchased for a pony bottle so readability is important to me. I have 20/20 vision in air but darned if I wasn't straining to read this in the water.

Simple guage for a simple job

Numbers are a little small, but for what it does it fine. I want to know my pony is full before I start, this is fine to do that with out having another spg gauge to dangle

Awesome Product

Excellent Product. Easy to install and gives a piece of mind to know how much air is in your pony bottle. Lets face it you have a pony bottle for situations when you need extra air. If you don't know how much you have can you really rely on that bottle?

Too Hard to Read

After a couple of months the glass was too 'fuxxy' too see through. It is just plain too small to be useful in a real-world situation.

Compact

It is what it is. This gauge makes it handy to check cylinder contents right before your dive without breaking out the tank checker. The gauge is small and underwater you may need just the right light and positioning depending on your vision.

This is works fine for me

This guage is kinda hard to read but most button guages are. It does exactly what it needs to do and thats all I ask for.

Compact

The needle is small. Very functional to check cylinder contents pre-dive but would be difficult to read in low light, poor visibility or high glare situations.

Unclutter!

I used this on my pony tank and eliminated a hose and bulky guage. Just what the doctor ordered for a redundant air supply.

Genesis Pressure Gauge

By WILLIAM S.

Worked perfectly on my pony tank. Easy to install and small enough that it doesn't get in the way.

The Genesis Pony Bottle Gauge is a tiny gauge that easily connects to the 7/16" threaded high-pressure port of any first-stage regulator allowing your pony bottle stage bottle or other alternate cylinder to show pressure in an easy-to-read display. Any diver who has used a pony bottle knows the hassle involved with trying to find out how much air is in the tank. Switching regulators to view the primary pressure gauge or adding a separate pressure gauge to the pony bottle is a problem solution. Now with the Pony Bottle Gauge, all those headaches are over. The Pony Bottle Gauge has a pressure range from 0 to 5,000 psi with a color-coded gauge face for quick-at-a-glance monitoring of cylinder pressure. Gauge comes complete with an O-ring, so it's ready-to-mount, out-of-the-box. Compact and streamlined it's a great accessory for any dive bag.
