Shopper : What are the dimensions of this compass?MATT M : The diameter is 2 1/4" and it's 1 3/8" deep. These are approximent measurments since I measurrd the compass in the retractable housing. FLETCHER L : I do not know, but after having used this, I would recommend you do as I do, return it, andbuy the suunto retractable instead. The width of the compass is 2 inches, and the mounted height is 2 1/8 inches at the compass. I carry it hooked to a BC ring and stored in a BC pocket. Easily accessible if I need it. The retractor allows full extension of your arm while swimming for sighting your next compass leg.
Shopper : what is the tilt potential on this compass?KEN L : I believe that is somewhere around 30 degs. I use this as my primary compass since I sent with a hoseless gauges. It is very esy to use as far as leveling out for a reading.JOSEPH C : I"m not sure I understand what you mean by "tilt potential". I always keep the compass level when using it. I notice if I don't keep it level the compass seems to be very slow. When level it works very well. I hope this helps.

Worth the price

I just used this for my advanced open water certification! It was easy to use. I had no problem seeing my luber line or the numbers for my degree changes. Would buy it again!

Many divers take compasses for granted, considering them just an accessory to an overall dive gauge console system. Trying to navigate with a poorly designed or improperly functioning compass can be one of diving's more frustrating events. Don't always need your compass for navigation; this convenient retractor mount compass module is your best choice.

Navigation was never easier with this handy retractor mount compass module. Retractor is equipped with two choices of mounting clips that easily attach to your BCD. You can choose from a plastic snap clip or stainless key ring. Both come complete with quick disconnect fitting allowing you to remove compass from BCD after the dive for safe storage. When you need to take a compass heading simply pull the self-retracting cable to desired length and when finished it will automatically retract the cable for you. Boot has side scan notch for side-reading gun-sight accurate navigation.

The compass is liquid filled for a quick and responsive movement. A ratchet bezel with compass headings in 30° numbered increments and indicator marks for every 10°. Bezel has twin heading indicators for alignment of compass course and a lubber line across the compass face. A side window with compass degrees allows gun-sight accurate use when precise headings are required. Compass card is luminescent for low light conditions.
