FAQ

What makes the Fourth Element Hotfoot Dry Suit Sock unique?

The Fourth Element Hotfoot Dry Suit Sock is unique because of its double layer construction. It has a high-density fleece inner layer for superior insulation and a water-resistant outer layer to create a warm, dry microclimate for your feet. Plus, it's made with ECONYL 100% recycled nylon, reflecting Fourth Element's commitment to sustainability.

Why are these socks important for diving?

These socks are important for diving because they provide maximum thermal protection for your feet, one of the first parts of the body to feel the cold during a dive. They also stay on when taking off your dry suit, unlike some other dry suit socks, and alleviate discomfort caused by full foot fin rubbing.

What is ECONYL?

ECONYL is a form of nylon that's made entirely from waste materials. It's as strong and flexible as virgin nylon but has the added benefit of being eco-friendly. The Fourth Element Hotfoot Dry Suit Sock uses ECONYL in its construction as part of Fourth Element's commitment to sustainability.

Are these socks comfortable?

Yes, the Fourth Element Hotfoot Dry Suit Sock is designed to provide maximum comfort. The high-density fleece inner layer and water-resistant outer layer create a warm, dry microclimate for your feet, while the snug fit design ensures the socks stay on when removing your dry suit.

Can these socks be used with any dry suit?

Yes, the Fourth Element Hotfoot Dry Suit Sock is designed to be used with any dry suit. They are designed to stay on when taking off your dry suit, a common issue with other dry suit socks.

Good product

These replaced my archaic outdated booties that I had used for years. What an improvement. I dive in Alaska - most of the time in sub 40* water. My feet always stay warm and I have a lot less issue with my fin strap riding my booties down with these kind. The outer shell is also a lot more water resistant than my old pair. Overall a great product and worth the money.

Protect the extremities. That's what one of the famous explorers said, and it's true that if your feet get cold on a dive, concentration can waver, and an otherwise fantastic dive can be marred by discomfort. From Fin Socks, designed to alleviate the rubbing from a full foot fin or keep the feet a bit warmer and comfortable in neoprene boots, to the Hotfoot and Hotfoot Pro, a dry suit sock with a water resistant outer layer, there is always a fourth element solution to keeping the feet warm.

A double layer of high insulation materials ensure that Hotfoot socks provide maximum thermal protection for the feet - one of the first parts of the body to feel the cold during a dive. High density fleece combined with water resistant outer fabric creates a comfortable, dry and warm microclimate for the feet. Designed to fit the feet, these socks will stay on when taking off your dry suit, unlike some other dry suit socks.

Featuring Fourth Elements unique thermocline fabric made using ECONYL 100% recycled nylon, these socks are not only excellent thermal protection, but they are also part of Fourth Elements commitment to building a more sustainable product and company. Hotfoot Pro Dry Suit Socks: 33% Econyl Recycled Nylon / 57% Polyester / 10% Elastane. Socks are black in color and available in multiple sizes.
