What is there to say? These tanks are, well, tanks. Scuba.com had the best price, I paid $250 for a 5yo used one from my lds so with visual and fill a brand new one is only about $130 more. Can't beat that. We only dive hp steels. I have 2-100cf and 4-80cf all galvanized. These tanks will outlive me and hopefully be passed down to my grandkids.

Great tanks. Will never go back to aluminum 80s. You can't beat the price or service from Scuba.Com!

I love my HP100s! They're heavy, but that's just part of the deal.

Switching from Al80s. Now have 3 of the Faber galvanized hp100s. So much better than painted tanks. Also pretty recent mfg date.

My first tank in 1973 was an Al 80. 3000psi. I dived from the shore. My depth gauge a rope with knots to an innertube float. I had a Casio watch in an small Iklite waterproof case tied to the pressure gauge hose with inner tube. I'd swim off the shore. After running out of air the lift of the empty AL tank was welcome. The only disadvantage I had was at shallow water group events. I weighted slightly heavy on the bottom at 30' so I could look for lobsters. I swapped to steel because the yearly visual inspection is cheaper.

We bought this for a friend at Christmas and he is able to fill 3500#'s and gets two dives from one tank. Since then he has bought three more just like it.

Since I live almost an hour from local dive shop and sites, I decided I needed another steel 100 tank. Tank works, and since I dive DIN, I appreciate the Pro valve (although would have preferred a DIN 300 option). The price was about the same as a used tank locally, so it made sense to buy new, but it would have been even better if it came with a VIP inspection.

For recreational diving, you can't buy a better cylinder than a HP100 hot dip galvanized. I prefer LP85's and LP95's for double tank tech and cave diving, but for rec diving, it's always HP100's. I do not like powder coated or painted tanks. Galvanized is far more rust and corrosion resistant. Overall, I prefer the tank boot on the XS Scuba cylinders compared to Blue Steel cylinders. The Blue Steel tanks easily tip over if not careful. I also prefer the valve on the XS Scuba cylinders. The cylinder itself is exactly the same. The only difference between XS Scuba and Blue Steel cylinders are the valve and boot. My recommendation, buy the XS Scuba variant of the Faber HP100.

Way more air than an aluminum 80, way heavier in the water too. Dropped 8 pounds of lead off my integrated bcd. It fixed the trim issue i was having with my bp/w setup, (tilting forward in the water when bc is inflated at the surface). Leisure pro has the best price on the web too!

Great tanks lots of gas and require less weight to sink.

Beautiful tanks! Arrived in one piece. Outer box was pretty sad, but tanks didn’t have a mark on them. Shipping was quick and easy. And a great price.

Tank arrived in good condition. The valve width is short, so carrying the tank by the valve is tight for the fingers and not comfortable.

I have used the Faber galvanized steel tanks for two years and have had no problems with them. My wife uses the Faber white steel tanks and I have to repaint the dings frequently.

If you need a good tank, this is the one to get. I bought two tanks and I dive with them all summer long. I have had nothing but good diving with them. I recommend the Fabre without reservation.

I like the size of the tank just right. I don’t like the Faber valve I switched it out for an XS Scuba valve. Much better.

A pain to carry and lift because of the weight but once in the water it is great. Has let me take so much weight out of my BCD. Great tanks just really heavy out of the water.

Great tank, needed to drill a couple of holes in the boot to make sure that it didn't hold any water. Shorter, weighs less than aluminum 80's. I can use less weight in my BC. What's not to like?

I have not actually used the tank, but the quality is great and at the best price. My experience with Leisure Pro was great as well.

Faber Hot Dip 120 Cu Ft Galvanized HP Steel Tank

Never gave much thought to tanks until I bought these. I breath about 1.5x more than my wife. She uses AL 80s. Now we end our dives same time, same air remaining. A bit heavy but now I use less weight with my dry suit and I never realized how annoying the + buoyancy of AL tanks was at the end of the dive was, until I didn't have to fight it anymore. Much easier to stay neutral at safety stops. I am going to buy a set of HP steel 80s for her when it is time to replace the ALs. Well worth...

When you need a big ass tank without the buoyancy issues

sweet tank. As an instructor, I can do 2 checkout dives with skills up and down, no problem. Aluminum 80 weights 10 pounds. This tank 3 pounds
This "indent" on the insert is normal part of manufacturing process. It allows any built up pressure under o-ring to equalize to assure proper pressure seal of o-ring in o-ring groove. In addition it is a point that enables easier removal with o-ring pick and installation of the new “Yoke Seal” o-ring which is a wear item and should be replaced under normal periodic inspection/maintenance.
If you are not using steel cylinders, try to use one and you will soon realize what you have been missing. Faber can offer you the most comprehensive range of cylinders for scuba diving. Every year Faber produce and sell around the world 100.000 cylinders for scuba diving (out of 600.000 in totals). No other manufacturer in the world can match their capabilities and the breadth of their range. Faber Tanks and valves are nitrox ready.
Cylinders come equipped with a DIN/K type valve that easily converts back and forth depending on the type of first stage regulator to be used in conjunction with the cylinder increasing the versatility of the tank. The Tanks are equipped with Faber's Valve. The construction allows the diver to remove lead weight from their weight belt or integrated weight system of the BCD, allowing the diver to better distribute weight by moving it to the rear of the BCD a great advantage when wearing a back inflation style (Wing) BCD.
Aluminum cylinders, as we breathe the weight of air from them, create positive buoyancy at or near the end of a dive. The steel cylinder with its negative buoyancy throughout the dive allows you to shed the excess lead that is required to keep you properly trimmed while you dive an aluminum cylinder. Faber HP cylinders have a round bottom and come equipped with a cylinder boot.
The Faber cylinders are 3442 psi (237 bar) working pressure cylinders, negatively buoyant from -8.05 lbs. to -9.08 lbs. (-3.65 kg to -4.12 kg) when full and are negatively buoyant from -1.74 lbs. to +1.45 lbs. (-0.8 kg to +0.66 kg) when empty. Cylinders are made from deep drawn chromium molybdenum steel and hot dip galvanized. When shipped the tanks valves will be removed and the tank will require re-inspection before being filled Note:
All Faber cylinders meet certificated specifications of the US Department of Transportation (DOT) with DOT special permit number 13488 and Transport Canada (TC) with special permit number SU7694-237.
Steel Cylinder Hydro Dates:
Blue Steel the Distributor of Faber tanks makes every effort to ship the newest possible hydro date on all cylinders. However, due to high manufacturing quantities on various models, fluctuating sales volumes due to market conditions, hydro inventory will very. Cylinders shipped within 24 months of Manufacture date are considered "current hydro"
