I wish I could reply to the other reviewer so I could help him understand how to use the product. The description LP provides is all you need. You attach the sewn (smaller) loop to the top cylinder cam band, then the adjustable (larger) loop goes around the tank neck. It's a great product and I'm ordering a spare one.

so what is the purpose of the loop?

One would assume the loop sewn into this strap would fit over the tank neck, right? Wrong, too small for that so the function is a mystery. No instructions whatsoever of course, why is it manufactures of dive gear "just don't get it?" Too cheap to be worth returning so screwed again, thanks for nothing Dive Wrong

The Transpac Neck Strap is included on all new Transpacs. It can also be ordered separately and be woven onto the top cam strap of any single tank rig. The purpose of the strap is to hold the rig in place on the tank while tightening the cylinder cam straps. This makes tank height adjustment "set-it-and-forget-it". It also makes switching out tanks on a rocking boat much easier. It is easily removable for transitioning to side mount or doubles diving.
