Works great for my needs. I use it to hold the top of my spare air to a D ring on my BC. It allows quick release yet keeps it secure.

It is just what I needed as I am getting ready to rig up 2 vintage double-hose regulators for open water diving. I want to be able to reach and retrieve my octopus 2nd stage without having to ?feel out? my 1st stage to follow the hose. These octopus? should be available to ooa diver as I am breathing on a double hose regulator mouthpiece making it difficult to ?buddy breathe? in an emergency situation. A great product Scott G Bonser

I bought this as a back up. I haven't used it yet.

Poorly made, the stitches are loosen. I feel like the rubber thing is going to be ripped apart at any second. There is better hose holders for less money. The hook part it pretty decent so I’m using it for another thing, since I already bought it.

Does exactly what it needs to do. Clips to my BCD, holds my octopus.

This is a good little octopus holder and the elastic seems to be durable. Mine has dozens of times on it and my octopus is still attached to me when I get out of the water .

Didn't call the shop but used the on-line chat which was very helpful and the individual who helped me was knowledagble and friendly.

Best "conventional" alternate second stage holder I've found, after using a lot of different ones. Mouthpiece is a bit hard to secure in the bungee loop, particularly underwater; but it holds very securely, perticularly if the bungee is behind the fastener lug of the mouthpiece zip-tie. Deploys immediately if needed. I clip this to the right shoulder d-ring on my BC, and could reach the alternate second stage with my mouth while it's still in the clip if I needed to.

Clips no problem to my Aeris BC D-rings. Holds my octo fine and it pulls free with little effort - just like it should. I have only used it for 8 dives (both salt and fresh water) but it shows none of the previously mentioned issues. The only issue (and why I went 4 vs. 5 stars) is that in the water, with 5mm gloves on, I find it nearly impossible to get the octo BACK IN after it's been pulled out.

I've had a number of Octo Holders, all different design varieties - velcro, hose clips, and even used large rubber bands in a pinch - but this one I like the best. This holder is just simple in design, does exactly what it's supposed to, and is very durable.

As was already mentioned opening of the clip is just too small for D-rings. Spring in the clip stopped working after 5 dives the most. Elastic has pooped out of cord, so it only held by outside fibers. Occy pops out. Over all I'm not happy with those.

The opening on the hook is too small for the D-Rings on my Black Diamond BC. If it would open wider, this would be a great product. However, fighting to get my octo to my mouth is not something I want to encounter if I actually NEED my octo.

Good octo holder. Bought one a while back for my gear. Bought all new gear and bought 2 more, one to hold my octo on my new gear and one to put around the compass on my Areis Atmos AI to hold it to my retractor. The clip will break as it is made from plastic and has a spring in it. The one I bought a year ago already broke so I superglued it shut on my spare BC to hold an octo (you really should never have to remove it anyway) and works fine.

Cheap and useful to hook up your accessories.

This little trinket might make a good leash for your parakeet, but it's completely useless as a Octo holder. Octopus wont stay in and once it comes out its difficult to put back in underwater. Poor quality - Bungie cord broke after 30 minutes of diving the first time I used it. Buy something else!

Having your octopus (alternate air source) available and close at hand is a matter of safety. This plastic non-corrosive clip has a self-locking spring lock for gate for positive retention with a 360-degree swivel. A nylon webbing with rubber loop attaches clip to your octopusregulators mouthpiece. So, keep your octopus rig close at hand and always ready for an out-of-air-emergency with the Dive Rite Octopus Holder.
