This 1" webbing crotch strap comes with a rather huge steel circle ring. Much prefer the D-ring included on the 1.5" strap version. While I understand why that same D-Ring would twist and not sit right in the 1" strap, I would prefer if Dive Rite found some other, smaller D-Ring to use instead.

This is useful for keeping the BC from riding up on you if you ever spend time at the surface after a dive. Older BCs don't have the strap. I was floating off Florida in choppy seas and realized this was useful. Always slip it under the weight belt, not above it for safety.

I bought this item to use with a scooter, works really great. Use it even when not using scooter and you don't even notice it's there.

For 29 years I have been diving and by now I know that if you don't use a crotch strap at some point your BCD is gonna ride up, move around, etc. Regardless of the BCD brand you prefer you need to add a crotch strap if it doesn't come with one. There is a reason technical divers use it; the fit of the BCD is much better, secured. Some complain it's bothersome on the surface but that's only because it's doing its job of not letting the jacket ride up. Leisurepro is the best in the business. Always pleased with their service.

Bought 2. One for myself the other for my wife. Ease of attaching the strap depends upon the design of your BCD. For mine I had to drill a whole. My BCD is weight integrated so the strap is meant to stop the BCD moving when upside down.

I bought my harness second hand and this was missing so it was essential for my rig to be the same as I always use on my primary set up. It now is.

Preferred by most divers for its general comfort, the 1" (2.5cm) wide crotch strap is ideal for fastening a harness and back plate securely to a diver's body. By using a crotch strap, divers can reduce the likelihood of their gear slipping upwards on the body in the water, resulting in the tank hitting the back of the head during a dive.
Nylon webbing provides strength with 2,200 lbs (998kg) of tensile strength, yet is soft and won't dig into the body. The (W x L) 1 x 38" (2.5 x 96.5cm) crotch strap comes with a Delrin squeeze style quick-release buckle and corrosion resistant 304-stainless-steel scooter ring for divers who scooter and want the convenience of a crotch strap that can be adjusted easily. Crotch Strap weighs 3 oz (85g) and is proudly made in the U.S.A.
