Mikayla L : Do you dive with only these weight pouches? Or do you have weight distributed elsewhere as well?Mike T : Hi Mikayla, yes you want to have weight distributed elsewhere. Especially in the form of ditch able weights. These pockets are not easy to access in case of an emergency. James S : Yes, I have the weight distributed in the form of the steel backplate and harness I use. I’ll typically need a couple pounds of trim when diving with Aluminum tanks. With steel tanks, I use no trim weights.ANNE G : I mostly use the regular weight pouches. The tank weight pouch interferes with the strap reaching around the tank causing it to slip.Robert P : The bulk of my weights are carried in the removable weight pockets of my bcd and I use these pouches for a small amount of undumpable trim weights. Shopper : What are the dimensions of this pocket?KEVIN F : Exterior is roughly 4" X 6" X 2". Will fit up to 5lb of block weight of lead shot bag weight.DIMITRI G : The weight pockets have an interior capacity of about 4.25 x 3.5 x 1.5". I dived with them a couple weeks ago with 3 lb solid weights for trim, and that more than fit in there ad worked great. But be sure to position them right next to your back and not the far side of the cylinder; if you turn sideways for have a look under a ledge or whatever, weights on the far side of the cylinder can swing you upside down. I speak from experience ;-) DG
Shopper : Is it a velcro closure or a sewn loop on the back? Description says sewn loop, but pictures online show the loop as being velcro.DONALD L : The weight pocket straps are Velcro and they are held in place by the tank; no way to get loose. They are great. I put 4-5 pounds in each and they allow me to easily float horizontally. I had two different back-floatation BC’s and they kept me vertical . A year after I bought these tank weight pockets I switched BC’s again and went to the Cressi jacket BC, mainly because their integrated weight pocket is not the removable type. - DonaldLAWRENCE F : It is Velcro. I was skeptical with the design at first but it workask well and stays very secured. It is a good product.WILLIAM M : The loop is Velcro which makes it easy to get on and off the tank. The Velcro is strong and holds the weight. I love this productpeter s : It is a Velcro closure and works well I have been using mine for 2 years now with no problemsAARON J : Both, basically. It's a sewn on loop with a Velcro closure. The Velcro allows you to position it on your tank strap. The tank strap tightens over the Velcro, so once your kit is assembled it's not going anywhere.Robert P : The loop is created by the Velcro and is very secure. It also means you don't have to take the tank band off to get the pockets on both sides. Too big.

Decent sack. It is HUGE. I can easily fit a 5lb weight in it but is so big and floppy. I can actually fit 2x 2lb and 1x 4lb hard weight for a total of 8 pounds. I would prefer a slimmer pouch that won’t flop around with a single hard weight in it.

Do you find your cylinder rising off your back near the end of the dive? Does your cylinder valve and regulator first stage bump you in the back of your head? Do you feel unbalanced in the water when wearing a weight belt or with integrated BCD weight system? If these are common problems for you Cressi has a simple solution to your problem. Adding weight pocket(s) to your BCD cylinder cam band can eliminate all of these problems. By placing hard or soft lead in the weight pocket situated on your cylinder cam band will keep your cylinder from floating near the end of a dive or provide balance to your system for a more comfortable dive. It will also take some weight off the hips when you dive with a weight belt. Pockets are made from durable nylon material with a zippered closure for security of weight. These 5 lbs (2.7kg) capacity non-releasable weight pockets have a nylon webbing loop sewn to the back for easy threading to your 2" (5.1cm) cam strap webbing.
