Shopper : My ten year old son is 58" tall, 28" chest, 28" hips, and 24" waste. The Medium size chart seems to work all but for the height. Will the M work as the L appears to large in all the other categories? He will use this in a outdoor swimming pool for swim team practice.Christopher D : Personally I would go for the large, particularly if being used for swimming. Not the color in the listing

This is an excellent light shorty, but please be aware that the color they will ship you is not the midnight blue/royal blue shown in the picture. The color they have in stock is black and royal blue.

keeps child warm and buoyant

My child has a long torso and is slim. I opted for the smaller size, and it fits well. Feels tight until one gets in the water. It provides a little extra buoyancy during swim class (These little ones sink like stones), and provides insulation when the water is cold. Front zip is much appreciated. I wanted a suit that was entirely neoprene, not Lycra in the arms and legs, so it cost a little more, but is worth it. Movement is not restricted.

Runs big

I bought this for my daughter who is 53" and 63lbs. She wears a size 10 or 26 swimsuit, but this size 10 was too big. She didn't realize how big until she got in water, so we cannot return it. Thankfully it wasn't real expensive. I think she will be too tall for it before she grows into the width.
