Shopper : One reviewer said it does not work with the Superocchio. Why not? It seems so unlikely. Is there something odd about the strap on the Superocchio? I have an old Occhio and can't see why there would be a problem.BRYAN P : I have three or four of the similar models that Cressi offers. They are low profile-low drag and very adequate free dive spearfishing else I'd not have several. I never use the clip if it comes with a snorkel. They come un-clipped at the most awkward times and, if you are a scuba diver, invite loss. I replace the clip type with regular old slide-on snorkel tabs/keepers. This type of snorkel is my go-to choice. But what do I know. I've only been spearfishing for 50 or so years.
Shopper : How flexible is it?KIM S : I bought this snorkel for scuba diving and skin diving. The scuba diving will be in generally calm seas. I chose this because it 1. got good reviews 2. soft mouthpiece 3. can be used from the right or left side. 4. cressi is a good company. For scuba diving from the beach in California, a dry or semi-dry snorkel can be helpful while kicking out in a chop. For skin diving, 100% dry is not good, semi-dry is ok. I dislike purge valves because they end up leaking someday. The mouthpiece swivel capability also may be useful while using scuba and I want it out of my way.EDWARD W : It is rigid enough that it does not shimmy as your swimming but it has some flexibility.LARRY R : veryAGNES D : Flexible enough for underwater hockey! No Nonsense Snorkel.

I bought this for my grandson who wants to start spearfishing. To me it is an excellent choice as it has no corrugations, purge valves, or "dry" valve at the top. Nothing to go wrong and it appears that it will be easy to clear. It is very similar to my 50-year-old snorkel but a little lighter weight which seems to be OK,

Design

The American Snorkel is specifically designed for the needs of the free diver or spear fishermen. The tube is shorter than a standard snorkel to lower the dead air space and allowing faster and more critical ventilation associated with the needs of the free diver or spear fishermen. The large bore anatomically contoured shaped snorkel tube is made from a flexible black material.

Its no-sharp-curves design further relieves air turbulence and increasing proper ventilation. A soft 100% silicone rubber mouthpiece section fits into the end of the main snorkel tube the mouthpiece section swivels so it can be placed at the correct angle for comfortable and long use. The snorkel keeper slides up-and-down the tube for perfect positioning on the mask strap and is equipped with an easy mount clip for quick removal of the snorkel from the mask. Snorkel is all black in color and is made in Italy.
