Great Choice for a new diver
My son and I both have an XS-2 regulator set. I have about 80+ dives on mine and it has never failed me yet. It breathes easy and is lightweight and comfortable. It may not have as many bells & whistles as some other regulators but it you want your own regulator and can't afford to spend a ton of money, this is a good regulator for you. I highly recommend it. No need to spend big bucks
I've3 been using this set for as long as I've been diving. I've had it down to 131' and 42°F where my buddies high end environmentally sealed reg freeflowed. This one didn't - it breathed fine and easy. Best of all it's simple to do your own service. The service manual is on-line and parts kits are only about $10-$15.
The XS2/AC2 Regulator is a reliable 1st stage regulator designed for non-balanced flow-by-piston use. It is a great choice for beginner divers or as a stage bottle regulator system. The 1st stage regulator is made of marine grade chromed brass which ensures durability and longevity. It has one high-pressure port and four low-pressure ports. The regulator features a conical filter with a larger surface area, providing better air flow characteristics.
The XS2 Compact Second-Stage housing is made of durable, non-corrosive hi-tech polymers and has a dependable downstream demand valve mechanism. The flow of air is channeled to the mouthpiece through injection, which creates a venturi effect, enhancing the performance of the regulator. Additionally, the 2nd stage comes with a flow deviator that adjusts the Venturi effect and has a dive/pre-dive adjustment function. The regulator is equipped with a comfortable silicone mouthpiece.
The XS2 Compact AC2 Regulator has a weight of 35 oz (994g) with the hose and comes with an owner's manual. The regulator is certified to EN250/2000 standards and is manufactured in Italy.
