Questions & Answers

Shopper : what's the exact length of the blades when disassembled for a size 40 and size 42?  I've read everything in reviews from 22" to 30" what the real deal?darrick c : Hello, the blade part is 31", and the foot pocket and side rails are 21".
David C : I would like to wear a 2 to 2.5 mm sock with these (Cressi makes a nice one).  I’m normally a size 11 without the sock, how much should I size up?darrick c : Hello David, no you would not need to size up in the fins, the size 46/47 would be the correct size for you with or without socks.
Shopper : I want to wear a 2 to 2.5mm neoprene sock with these (Cressi makes a nice one). I’m a size 11,without the sock, so should I size up?darrick c : Hello, no you would not need to size up with the sock.
Alex M : How do these size with the foot pocket design? If typically wearing a 44/45 EU shoe, is it more appropriate to size down to a 42/43 or buy the same size as a regular shoe?darrick c : Hello ALex, you would want to order the same size as the shoe you wear.RUSSEL B : I would size down one or even 2 sizes. I dozed down and also wear neoprene socks to get these to fit well. But they are my favorite with the socks on.
RACHEL G : How long are the fins when assembled and when disassembled?darrick c : Hello Rachel, the length is 36 inches long. When you break it down, the fin blades are 30 inches and the foot pocket and rail support is 14 inches.

New Find

I think the fins are a good value. I did choose a size smaller, as suggested by others and they fit well. I paired them with cressi 1mil socks and the fins were nice and comfortable and fit well with no issues with them slipping. The first dive had a strong current and the fins preformed well and I didn't have any issues getting around in it.

Only looks like a freediving fin

I wanted a shorter alternative to my long freediving fins to make travelling easier. These are not the answer. The foot pockets are sloppy-wide, both on my pair and a second pair that I purchased for my wife. I've stuck with Cressi fins for decades because of a dependable fit. The fit of these is extremely disappointing. The fins themselves have enough stiffness, and hence power, to use for exercise but are too soft for freediving. I've gone back to using my Gara 3000.

A great freediving fin.

I was a sad day a few weeks ago when I had to retire my over 35 year old Cressi Free Diving fins. They had aged like fine wine but my last repair attempt failed. I got these on a chat recommendation from MIZU and they are perfect. A little shorter and and not as stiff as my antiques but better suited for my casual free diving and plenty of power when needed. Easier to mangage and manuver. Unless you are at the highest level of free diving these are suitable for casual or serious free diving.

Great fins

They?re softer/easier to use than my Mares Instinct Pro fins, but stiffer and more efficient than snorkeling fins. I have a hard time finding fins for women because they all fit too big (I have women?s size 6.5 - 7) so I got these in their smallest size (36/37) and they are just slightly loose, so I use them with fin keepers and they fit perfect!

Cressi Gara Modular Sprint FIns

Introducing: GARA MODULAR SPRINT

The new Gara Modular Sprint fin is a shorter version of the Impulse fin, which proved to be hugely popular with freedivers worldwide, both amateurs and the most demanding professional freedivers. This is also confirmed by the large number of articles dedicated to it by specialized journalists in sector magazines.

Introducing: GARA MODULAR SPRINT

The blade of Sprint, like the Impulse blade, is made of a single thermoplastic elastomer, although it would be more correct to refer to an angled sublayer and an overlay. The sublayer follows the shape and dimensions of almost the entire fin. It has a uniform thickness and a flexible longitudinal propulsion wing of variable length. In contrast, the so-called overlay covers the propulsion wing selectively and has a thickness that slopes from the maximum value to zero longitudinally towards the tip of the blade.

Excellent Propulsive Performance

As a result, the fin offers a new way of storing and releasing elastic potential energy, greatly assisting movement of the freediver’s legs and thus guaranteeing a net improvement in propulsive output. When disassembled, the blade and foot pocket occupy the space of a normal snorkeling fin.

Self Adjusting Foot Pocket
Introducing: GARA MODULAR SPRINT

The Cressi Gara Modular Sprint fin is part of the Cressi Gara line. It is a shorter version of the Impulse fin, which proved to be hugely popular with free divers worldwide, both amateurs and the most demanding professional free divers. This is also confirmed by the large number of articles dedicated to it by specialized journalists in sector magazines. Sprint is designed to meet the needs of free divers and spear fishers who practice this sport in wintertime and when a fin as long as Impulse is not necessary. Both fins have been designed using expensive finite element software programs that allow highly complex and equally high-performance sections to be defined. As a result, the fin offers a new way of storing and releasing elastic potential energy, greatly assisting the movement of the free diver's legs and thus guaranteeing a net improvement in propulsive output. When disassembled, the blade and foot pocket occupy the space of a normal snorkeling fin.

Gara Modular interchangeable system allows you to switch blades depending on your diving needs. Excellent propulsive performance without tiring anyone, beginners or professionals. Thermoplastic rubber foot pocket, certified full contact. Standard blade/stringer interface with screws under the foot pocket and side clips. Extremely thin and light blade in a compound made of elastomeric techno polymers developed by Cressi with different thicknesses. Stringer consisting of techno polymers with elastomeric loads with high flexural modulus. Foot pocket/blade angle of 29-degrees works more naturally with divers' foot and leg Fin is available in multiple sizes and colors.
