This gun has to be immediately re-rigged upon purchase to save you money and grief. The shaft on this gun is accurate and shoots like a dart; however, I recommend immediately changing the shaft line. The rear point, where the line attaches to the shaft, is a straight cut hole, meaning it has sharp edges. This line will break after a few shots. I take a dremel and round out a smooth transition and replace with dyneema line. If not, you WILL lose your shaft and this website does NOT sell replacement shafts. Most other shafts will not fit this gun and I have been having to order shafts from Spain. Make sure you do not accidentally release the bands out of water or you will cosmetically damage the muzzle. The gun does not fill with water, which is good for me, and doesn't sink as fast. In fact, it is well balanced and makes sighting up prey easier.

I purchased the 60cm gun about a year ago and have been out with it about a dozen times. It's a great size for Northern California reefs, maneuverable in the kelp and crags, with plenty of power and range to bring in the rockfish and lingcod we hunt in low visibility. The 1/4" shaft tends to just blast right through, and the aim feels true. The grip is comfortable with 5mm gloves and the trigger just works. Reloading is fairly simple--about 90 seconds at a relaxed pace. A few things you'll want to know: 1. You must re-rig this gun! The default rigging is just 200# test and no bungee. The line will eventually break where it attaches to the gun, and you'll be swimming after your shaft (or replacing it.) Buy a bungee, crimps, and some 300# test (get a kit) and re-rig this gun. You won't regret it. 2. Rinse well! Disassemble the bands every time and pull out the removable pieces of the handle. My gun is holding up well, but I didn't remove the bands the first few dives and the salt buildup in those connectors did corrode the nuts (just a little.) 3. Keep the tip sharp. Seems obvious, but if you're shooting into rocks, you need to maintain the point. Otherwise, you'll "bounce" off a lot of fish before you realize it's dull.

This is a great Italian speargun. The build quality is as good as any other brand that I have seen, and working in the dive industry I've seen most brands. This gun is laser accurate and has many design improvements that I've never seen on any other gun. The piviting bow on the muzzel allows you to sight down the shaft and can be easily converted to open muzzel. I chaned the shooting line to mono and added a bungee, simple fix. This gun is also easy to modify if you don't like the setup.

I've had this gun now for about a month and it has served me well. For the price, you can't go wrong. It is easy to use and very comfortable in the water. Since it is so light it is super easy to move around and aim. That being said, keep in mind that you get what you pay for. There is no shock chord, which kinda bugged me. The build quality isn't bad, but it isn't up to par with Mako, RA, etc. Still a great gun and will survive the abuses of the ocean while bringing home some nice fish!

Geronimo has the same features and technical refinements as Geronimo Pro: the difference lies in the barrel, which has a traditional circular section bore equipped with an integrated shaft guide, black satin and silk printing laser. The grip comes with a brand new adjustment system that makes it possible to personalize its size according to the diver's hand. The trigger can be adjusted both while moving and to make the release gentler, and mechanically activates a new kind of concealed line stop. There are two safety catches placed on both sides of the handgrip so they can also be activated by left-handers. The grips are made from soft-grip material to optimize purchase. The new muzzle can hold both circular bands and the special standard bands, complete with a brand new, patented pivoting bow system that blocks the shaft against the barrel right up to the moment the gun is fired.
The Cressi Geronimo Spear Gun has 28 mm (1.1") diameter anodized aluminum alloy barrel with a laser serigraphy glazed black finish. The gun muzzle is a compact closed design. Gun comes equipped with standard parallel 16mm (5/8") bands with threaded jointed stainless steel wishbones. The spear shaft is made from durable 6mm (0.24") 17-4 PH stainless steel and is dual notched Inox with a Tahitian single flopper barb design. Gun is available in lengths of 60 cm to 100 cm (23.6" to 38.4").
